Chapter 468 - Run, then.

Esen had been weird about his slate all afternoon, Raizen had just realized.

He was forced to notice it, mostly because Feris kept smacking his arm every time he turned the thing on, which by Raizen's count was five times in less than ten minutes. Esen would check it, make a small dissatisfied noise, and put it away dramatically – clearly wanting very badly to be asked what he was checking.

Nobody asked. Everyone had learned that asking Esen anything only encouraged him in doing whatever shenanigans ran through his head.

"He's been doing it since this morning," Feris said, dropping back to walk beside Raizen. "Before the game, during lunch, even after training. He even once checked it mid-match, which is how I nearly beat him."

"Is it a girl?"

"He'd have told us. He'd have told the entire city."
