Floating, it turned out, was its own entire discipline.
Raizen had assumed — quietly, arrogantly, in the way you assume things about skills you've never tried — that levitation was just channelling pointed down – just like they did on their first Eon tests. He could form constructs. He could reinforce. He had cleared all of the Eon exams up until now, could comfortably dash and make his own blades levitate half a meter off the ground.
"How hard could it be?" he thought as he was standing on the training field. He then reached for his Eon, pushed the current beneath his boots, and shot half a meter into the air with a strangled noise before crashing back down onto both feet.
From the bench came the sound of six people trying not to laugh yet.
