Chapter 92 - Nature’s Three Urgencies

"Ahhhhh! I'm going to die!"

Michael's scream pierced the air like a soul-stirring banshee wail — he could easily qualify for one of the top three tenors in the world.

"Relax," Li Qingyuan said, pulling the syringe from Michael's arm and patting his shoulder. "With a voice that loud, you're definitely fine."

"You've already taken eight hundred milliliters from me! I swear I'm about to die from blood loss!" Michael gasped, his face pale with terror.

When he'd first learned from the man's mouth that he possessed an incredibly rare and valuable blood type, he'd dreamed of a bright future.

Forget about a billion dollars — even a million would do. He was strong and healthy; selling blood twice a year should've been easy money.

Two hundred thousand dollars a year, pure profit! Even if he spent every day drinking and partying, he'd never run out of cash!

But the moment the needle pierced his arm, that beautiful dream shattered.

Whether or not his blood was truly as valuable as the other man claimed… he suddenly realized he wasn't getting a single cent for it!

After all, the man in front of him didn't look like the type who'd pay for anything.

Li Qingyuan placed the four bags of blood into a refrigerated case and began cleaning up the scene.

Technically, he could've drained Michael dry — who would ever complain about having too much money, right?

But the "tool man" in front of him was still useful. Without Michael, who else would lure out the werewolves for him?

Last night, he'd sent two flies to tail Lucian in hopes of finding the werewolves' hideout. But that guy tore through the sewers like a raging bull. The flies couldn't keep up at all and eventually lost him.

What could he do? Insects might be inconspicuous, but their flight speed was way too slow. Even a human sprinting could outrun them, let alone a werewolf!

"He's a direct descendant of Alexander Corvinus?"

Seeing Li Qingyuan packing up as if preparing to leave, Selene — who'd been tied up and silent for a long time — finally spoke.

As expected of the story's heroine, with just a few clues she instantly deduced why both the werewolves and this mysterious Eastern man had targeted Michael.

Honestly, with that level of deduction, she should've been acting in a detective series — or better yet, competing with that "death god" elementary schooler for screen time — instead of starring in a fantasy action flick.

To be honest, Li Qingyuan hadn't quite decided what to do with Selene yet.

According to his system's mission, he needed to eliminate ninety-five percent of the vampires and werewolves in Budapest — which naturally put Selene on the "to-be-cleansed" list.

But even after all his missions, no matter how many worlds he'd messed up, he had never actually killed a protagonist.

Take that annoying Jack Sparrow, for example. If it weren't for him being the "Chosen One" of the Pirates of the Caribbean world, Li Qingyuan would've killed him eight times over already!

After all, every world had its "main character causality." Who knew what weird backlash might occur if he really killed Selene?

As for Michael?

Sure, he was technically the male lead — but just in name. A side character at best. Having or not having him didn't really matter. Killing him wouldn't change a thing!

"You can guess," Li Qingyuan shrugged, slinging the case of Michael's blood bags over his shoulder as he walked out.

After working half the night, it was already ten in the morning. Time to get back to business.

Watching the mysterious man leave, Selene began planning her escape.

Though tightly bound, she wasn't worried in the slightest.

After all, she was a Death Dealer — one of the elite vampire warriors trained daily to kill. Breaking free from ropes was child's play to her.

She just needed to push her shoulders slightly, twist her wrists a little—

Crack—

A sickening pop echoed from her shoulder, and pain twisted her face.

"What's wrong?"

Because of the earlier blood draw, Michael was now sitting directly across from her and immediately noticed her expression contorting in pain.

"My arm… it's dislocated."

Sweat poured down Selene's face. The vampire physique was indeed far stronger than a human's, but compared to a werewolf's insane regeneration, it wasn't even close.

"I'm so sorry!"

Seeing her in pain, Michael instantly forgot all about his blood loss and started apologizing like crazy.

If it weren't for him, she probably wouldn't have gotten dragged into this mess in the first place.

As for the fact that Selene carried guns and killed people without blinking?

Well, when faced with a beauty like that, those were minor details!

Leaving the two captives in the basement to their own awkward situation, Li Qingyuan was already driving his rented Chevrolet to Michael's apartment building.

The place had been sealed off by police. There'd been a shootout the previous night, and several naked men were found dead inside. Everyone who'd seen the scene was left questioning their life choices.

Thanks to the silver bullets in Selene's pistol, the werewolves she'd killed had reverted to human form. So neither Lucian nor Alexander's men bothered retrieving the bodies.

As long as the existence of werewolves wasn't exposed, a few naked male corpses in an apartment wasn't too suspicious — right?

Listening to the gossiping onlookers nearby, Li Qingyuan couldn't help rolling his eyes.

Seriously? How the hell did they come up with a story about these dead guys fighting over a man they all loved?

Sure, showbiz was messy — but this was too absurd!

Shaking his head to clear away the mental pollution, he pulled a small note from his pocket and stuck it discreetly in a corner.

Just to make sure the werewolves with their sharp eyes didn't miss it, he dabbed a bit of Michael's blood on the paper.

Those wolves had lost Michael's trail, so they'd be frantic right now. This apartment — both the scene of the incident and Michael's residence — was bound to be searched again.

All he needed to do was wait.

He found a nearby café with a clear view of the note's location, ordered a meal set, and began to eat leisurely.

After running around all night, he hadn't had time for a proper meal. Finally, a moment to reward himself.

As he cut into his tender steak, a random thought struck him.

He'd left Michael and Selene in that basement — no food, no water — which was fine for now.

But what if… nature called?

He grimaced.

Yeah, best not to think about that. Too disgusting.
