A carriage was driving through the Empress Borough. Inside sat a young man with short brown hair it was lukas Lukas who was lost in thought. After a few minutes of quiet travel, the driver suddenly took a left turn.
Seeing that, Lukas frowned and said, "Hey, sorry, but you're going the wrong way."
The driver turned to him with a smile. "Don't worry, sir. I know a shortcut."
Lukas looked out the window, his brows furrowing deeper as the carriage stopped in a narrow alley. "I don't think this is a shortcut," he muttered.
Suddenly, his spirituality screamed in warning — a primal sense of danger. Before he could react, a hand shot out from behind and grabbed him by the throat, hurling him out of the carriage with enormous force. He slammed into a wall, coughing up blood.
When Lukas lifted his head, his blurred vision caught sight of a hooded figure walking toward him — and that was the last thing he saw before losing consciousness.
After an unknown amount of time, Lukas woke up. His body no longer ached, but his surroundings made his heart sink — he was inside a cage.
He stood up, pacing restlessly. Shit, this is bad. I got kidnapped… but by who? Wait — that person who attacked me looked very similar to Mr. A. If it really was him, that means I've been captured by the Aurora Order. But why? He frowned, muttering to himself. Is it because of that quill? But how would they even know about it? Damn, there are so many questions.
Footsteps echoed from the corridor. A hooded person appeared, pulling down his hood to reveal a delicate, feminine face wearing a twisted smile — it was Mr. A.
Lukas glared at him. "Why did you kidnap me?"
Mr. A's smile deepened, his tone dripping with amusement. "You see, Arthur, my lord gave me a revelation — that you are very special. And my magnificent lord is never wrong. Now that I'm close to you, I can feel it — that aura around you, it's… fascinating. My lord also said I can do whatever I want to you. Dead or alive, it doesn't matter, as long as we get the information he desires."
A chill ran down Lukas's spine. He swallowed and forced out, "What are you gonna do to me, huh? You psychopath!"
Mr. A's grin widened. "A psychopath? No, no, no. I'm not insane — I'm merely devoted. I worship my lord. And don't you worry…" He leaned closer, eyes glinting. "…I know exactly what to do with you."
Before Lukas could react, Mr. A vanished and reappeared behind him, striking him effortlessly and knocking him out cold.
When Lukas regained consciousness again, he gasped — he was no longer in the cage but in some sort of arena. The air reeked of blood and sweat.
A loud voice boomed from above. "Welcome, everybody, to Daily Fights! Today's entertainment — a fool named Arthur, going up against a champion who has eaten 598.5 people, including a few Sequence 5s! Welcome… LARRY!"
The crowd erupted. "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"
Lukas's eyes darted to the other side of the arena. What he saw made his stomach drop — a dog-like creature, nearly three meters tall, with reddish-black fur, bloodshot eyes, and jagged teeth dripping with saliva.
"Well, shit…" Lukas muttered under his breath.
The creature started walking toward him. Lukas quickly reached into his right pocket and pulled out a revolver. Wait — they didn't take my gun?
He aimed it at the creature, finger trembling on the trigger. But before he could fire, the monster vanished and instantly reappeared right in front of him, casting a massive shadow. It leaned down until their eyes met — beast and man.
Lukas didn't hesitate.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
He emptied the revolver, every shot echoing through the arena. Some bullets hit the creature's eyes, others its face — but not a single one left a scratch.
Fear flooded Lukas's chest. What the hell is this thing!?
The creature growled, snatched the revolver, and swallowed it whole. Then, with terrifying strength, it raised one leg and kicked Lukas with enough force to send him crashing into the arena wall. The stone cracked; Lukas coughed up blood.
Before he could even move, the creature appeared before him again, kicking him repeatedly at blinding speed before sending him flying high into the air. Then, it vanished — only to reappear above him.
CRASH!
It kicked him down, smashing him into the ground and forming a deep crater. The entire arena shook from the impact.
Lukas lay motionless, barely conscious. I can't feel my legs… hell, I can't feel anything. How the fuck am I alive? Am I a cockroach or something? Maybe the Aurora Order did something to my body while I was unconscious. Either way… I don't think I'll survive this one.
The creature landed a few meters away, letting out a thunderous roar that made Lukas's ears ring.
From the crowd, one of the tall men stood up and threw an enormous sword — at least one and a half meters long — toward the creature. It caught the blade in its mouth with eerie precision.
Lukas blinked. What the fuck!? It's a sword user now? What are they feeding this thing?
The creature glared at him, its bloodshot eyes glowing. Then it began spinning rapidly, faster and faster, forming a small tornado around itself.
As it charged toward him, Lukas could only stare and think—
How the hell is it even doing that!?
