Roxy started to dodge backward, her eyes wide with fear. "What do you want from me?"
Nevaeh ignored her weak resistance and firmly grasped her wrist, her fingers pressing down on the pulse point.
Panic completely seized Roxy as she desperately tried to pull her arm away. "Let go of me! What are you doing? Liam, she's trying to hurt me! You can't just stand by and do nothing!"
"You have a smooth but weak pulse," Nevaeh stated, her gaze piercing as she locked eyes with Roxy, speaking each word slowly and deliberately. "It's the kind of pulse associated with menstruation. You aren't pregnant."
Roxy's eyes began to dart around wildly, and she finally yanked her hand free, swallowing hard.
