After drawing the first turn, Yun Jin immediately pulled five cards from her deck. Then—she burst into motion!
Dashing across the Tianheng Mountains, Yun Jin ran swiftly while glancing through the cards in her hand.
A few days earlier, Yun Jin had studied the [Performapal] Deck. She knew it was a Pendulum Deck—one that allowed multiple monsters to be summoned at once using Pendulum Summon!
Moreover, in this Action Duel Field, the summoned monsters could apparently serve as mounts. If she managed to summon [Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon], she would gain an enormous advantage on this terrain.
Meanwhile, Shenhe's deck—the [Exosister] archetype—consisted entirely of humanoid monsters that couldn't be ridden. However, as an adeptus trained in the arts of the immortals, Shenhe's mobility was already exceptional. When collecting Action Cards scattered around the field, she could easily gain the upper hand.
Fortunately, Yun Jin's deck was filled with animal companions that could help her reach places she otherwise couldn't. That would, to some extent, close the gap in physical ability between her and Shenhe.
With a graceful backflip, Yun Jin snatched an Action Card from the edge of a cliff!
[Sacrifice Festival]
On the card's surface, a crimson demon blotted out the sky. Even the weather grew darker and gloomier. Yun Jin briefly read its effect—and activated it!
"I activate [Sacrifice Festival]!"
As she did, the entire Tianheng range became shrouded in black mist. A dark demon appeared in the sky—then plunged into a nearby cave!
Yun Jin discarded one card from her hand—[Performapal Salutiger]. A single card glowed blood-red and flew into her grasp.
"I activate [Sacrifice Festival]'s effect! By discarding one monster card, I can add one Spell Card from my deck to my hand."
"I add the Spell Card [Pendulum Call]!"
As Yun Jin picked up and used an Action Card, the spectators below erupted in excitement.
"Whoa!"
"So that's what the Action Duel Field can do?!"
"You can grab cards scattered around and use them—"
"—to influence the duel directly!"
"That means Yun Jin just gained an extra card advantage!"
"But Yun Jin's still human—her stamina can't compare to Shenhe's, right?"
"And Shenhe has adeptal techniques!"
"I activate the Spell Card [Pendulum Call]!"
With Yun Jin's declaration, two magician-like figures appeared on her field. She discarded [Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon] from her hand. However, [Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon] did not go to the Graveyard—it was placed face-up in the Extra Deck for later use.
After discarding [Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon], Yun Jin added [Stargazer Magician] and [Timegazer Magician] from her deck to her hand.
"[Pendulum Call] effect! Discard one card to add two 'Magician' Pendulum Monsters with different names from your deck to your hand. After this card resolves, until the end of your opponent's next turn, 'Magician' cards in your Pendulum Zones cannot be destroyed by card effects."
"Whoa! It's [Stargazer Magician] and [Timegazer Magician]!"
"Looks like Boss Yun..."
"She's going straight for a Pendulum Summon!"
"Huh!? A Pendulum Summon?!"
"That's so cool~"
Holding [Stargazer Magician] and [Timegazer Magician], Yun Jin traced two arcs through the air with the cards in her hands.
"I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 [Stargazer Magician]—and Scale 8 [Timegazer Magician]! Now, I can summon monsters from Level 2 to Level 7 simultaneously!"
The two cards—one radiant white, one shadowy black—materialized together in Yun Jin's Spell & Trap Zones.
"Sway now! Pendulum of Souls! Draw the arc of light across the heavens!!!"
"Pendulum Summon! Come forth—my monsters!"
