In Vashj'ir, Dex Yue Nu's face was filled with worry.
Just as his father, Albert Yue Nu, had predicted, after the Well of Eternity's explosion severed the roads, the previously compliant Vashj'ir nobles grew increasingly restless.
At first, they were only testing the waters. After all, Mages could open portals to transport distant armies. So, they were very cautious, fearing there would be no room for retreat.
However, after several conflicts, the Darkmoon City army did not increase, which stirred the Vashj'ir nobles' ambitions.
They began to secretly incite commoners to demonstrate against Drakos.
After Drakos arrived in Vashj'ir, he conscripted some commoners as miners, hoping to restore the mines to operation as quickly as possible.
Although Albert had been promoted to Duke, his older brother would inherit the title in the future. Even if he was the eldest son, the Kaldorei had long lifespans; how long would he have to wait to inherit the title?
Given that time, it would be better to find a way to earn merit himself.
Taking control of Vashj'ir was a ready-made Merit. Drakos volunteered to his father and was given this task.
Initially, he didn't take this task seriously. After all, he came with Vaschi's head, backed not only by Darkmoon City but also by Your Majesty Gail's command.
Unfortunately, he underestimated the ambition of the Vashj'ir nobles.
These nobles were Mages who had followed Vaschi to open up new territory. They belonged to branches of various Royal Mage families and were close to Azshara's faction. They held no reverence for Gale and did not know how powerful Gale was now.
Upon seeing Vaschi's head, the reason they surrendered was fear of enraging Albert Yue Nu, causing him to send the entire Darkmoon City army to suppress them.
Now that the roads were cut off, Albert Yue Nu couldn't possibly attack, so they naturally became restless.
After several probes, they had discovered that Drakos had not sent Vashj'ir's spatial beacon back to Darkmoon City. Furthermore, after the Well of Eternity's explosion, the Arcane concentration in the world decreased, making it very difficult to open portals.
And as long as Drakos's ships were burned, Vashj'ir would be cut off from external contact. After they dealt with these Darkmoon City fellows, they could become the local emperors of Vashj'ir.
These people had no idea that to their west, there was a powerful Mage Tower.
As night was about to fall, the nobles took action. They attacked the dock guards, then used magic to set all the ships on fire.
Watching the port engulfed in flames, they laughed.
"Next up is that brat Drakos."
However, before they could finish celebrating, a shadow streaked across the sky, and a giant dragon descended.
Luna looked at the nobles below, "Was it you who burned the dock? It seems you're preparing for a rebellion!"
"Who... who are you?"
The nobles were terrified; they seemed to recall a certain existence, "You are the Dragon Knight Luna?"
Luna raised her head, "It's the first time anyone has called me that."
The nobles despaired, "You... how could you be here?"
They dared to deal with Drakos, but facing Luna, they didn't even have the courage to attack. They had long heard of Smaug's power, a giant dragon captured by Gale using the artifact Nash's Fang, which had performed exceptionally well in the war against the Trolls. It could even face the Troll's loa.
These nobles were just some insignificant Mages, not even Archmages; how dared they lay a hand on this long-famous behemoth before them.
Moreover, the artifact in Luna's hand also filled them with awe.
They looked at each other, wanting to ask if the other had any ideas. Some people's eyes darted frantically, looking for an opportunity to escape.
Luna saw through their intentions and smiled disdainfully.
At this moment, a sound came from the sea behind her, and Luna couldn't help but smile, turning to look.
Seizing this opportunity, the nobles made a snap decision and turned to run. But after only a few steps, they felt a gust of wind. Subconsciously looking towards the dock, they saw a tornado engulfing the dock, instantly extinguishing the raging fire.
Amidst the disgust, a huge dark shadow slowly approached.
Another gust of wind blew, pushing the burned ships aside, revealing the true face of the shadow.
A giant ship!!!
On the bow, a ranger holding a flaming bow stood, looking coldly at them. On either side of the ranger, two ballistas were fully strung with arrows, already aimed at them.
"Surrender immediately! Those who dare to flee will be killed without mercy!"
When the nobles heard these murderous words, their legs turned to jelly.
They had already matched the ranger's image with the person in their minds—Salador Sunstrider, one of the original guards of Gale's Mage Tower.
With Salador appearing here, could Gale be on the ship?
It's not that the nobles were imagining things; these nobles had only seen small pleasure boats, and the Sunstrider completely broke their understanding, making them mistakenly believe it was Gale's flagship.
While they were lost in thought, two Arcane passages extended from the giant ship. Two teams of soldiers quickly ran down and surrounded them.
Then, Antaria led her team of magistrates down. The magistrates scrutinized the nobles, and one grim-faced magistrate ordered: "Imprison them all and await interrogation."
The soldiers immediately took out specialized shackles, cuffed the nobles one by one, and then escorted them to Vashj'ir.
Drakos, rushing with his soldiers, happened to meet the escorting team head-on.
"Who are you?"
The escorting soldier loudly declared: "By appointment of Your Majesty Gail, Archmage Antaria Dusk, Governor of Vashj'ir, has arrived to take up her post."
Drakos froze, a hint of unwillingness in his heart. But he quickly asked: "Where is the Governor?"
He had heard Antaria's name and knew she was one of Gale's closest attendant Mages. Moreover, she was an Archmage and had served as a magistrate of Antu'dara. In every aspect, he was far inferior to Antaria.
So, he suppressed his unwillingness and went to meet Antaria.
"Darkmoon City Colonel Dex Yue Nu, greetings to the Governor!"
Antaria sized him up, "You are the Moon Fury Legion Commander's son?"
"Indeed!" Drakos nodded.
"You've worked hard. What is the situation like in Vashj'ir City now?"
Drakos said with embarrassment: "It's still under control for now, but the nobles are already restless."
Antaria smiled, "It's alright. From now on, they will be very calm."
"Let's enter the city!"
Drakos watched as teams of soldiers entered Vashj'ir, taking over the city defenses, controlling all key routes, and securing the Mage Tower.
The nobles still wanted to resist, but after an enforcement magistrate took down a Mage with a fireball, everyone became docile.
