Hakkar's return caused ZulGurub to lose more than half of its Trolls, with the remaining Trolls all being incorporated into the Drakkari Tribe.
The Drakkari did not rest and recuperate, because Hakkar wanted more flesh and souls.
To satisfy Hakkar's appetite, the Drakkari drove the Trolls to attack gathering places in the wilderness.
The Trolls in the gathering places were caught off guard, seized by their own kind, escorted to ZulGurub, and sacrificed to Hakkar.
However, Hakkar had not consumed flesh and souls for over a thousand years, and these few Trolls were nowhere near enough to satisfy his appetite.
"I want more sacrifices!"
After devouring a Drakkari, the Drakkari had no choice but to search for sacrifices again.
They entered the forest, wantonly hunting wild beasts to offer as sacrifices to Hakkar.
But even after all the wild beasts in the nearby forests were slaughtered, Hakkar's appetite remained unsatisfied.
The Drakkari, left with no other option, turned their gaze to the other two branches of the Gurubashi Trolls: the Bloodscalp and the Darkspear.
ZulKunda and ZulGurub were separated by the Elwynn River, and communication between them was not frequent.
Furthermore, the Elves had established a camp at the mountain pass to the north, causing the Bloodscalp's scouts to be dispatched there to gather military intelligence.
The Drakkari launched a surprise attack on ZulKunda, destroying the altars within the city and temporarily cutting off communication between the Bloodscalp and their loa.
Then, the army stormed the city, killing all the Trolls inside.
They took all the bodies and burned ZulKunda.
When the Bloodscalp Trolls in the wilderness returned, they looked at their homeland with tears of despair.
The betrayal by their own kind filled their hearts with hatred.
They resettled around the ruins of ZulKunda, filled with murderous intent towards any humanoid creature that dared to approach.
From then on, this place became an 'off-limits area' for adventurers.
Any adventurer who reached this area would be extremely vigilant, as they never knew when an axe might fly out and split their heads in two.
The Bloodscalp's hunters thus earned the title of Skullsplitters.
Unlike the foolish Bloodscalp Trolls, the Dark Spear Trolls were more astute.
They received news when the Drakkari attacked the Trolls in the wilderness.
Upon learning through reconnaissance that Hakkar had returned, they became concerned for their own safety.
Remaining in Stranglethorn Vale, they might also be devoured by Hakkar.
While the Drakkari were slaughtering wild beasts in the forest, they began to build ships.
After ZulKunda was destroyed, the Dark Spear Trolls knew that the Drakkari's next target would surely be them.
So, before the Drakkari could attack, they boarded the ships with their families overnight and fled Stranglethorn Vale.
Those who could not get on a ship also abandoned their homes and disappeared into the forest.
When the Drakkari arrived near the Gurubashi Arena, they discovered that it was already deserted.
"Where are the people?" the Warlock roared in anger; if he could not satisfy Hakkar's demands, he would certainly be the next to be devoured by Hakkar.
"They seem to have escaped by boat!"
The Warlock rushed to the seaside.
On the beach, there were large piles of wood shavings from shipbuilding and supplies that had not been moved.
The Darkspear had indeed sailed out to sea, and their entire tribe had gone.
At this moment, the Warlock felt utterly desperate.
The Darkspear sailed for several days at sea and finally discovered a landmass.
Everyone cheered happily, landing to rest and recuperate.
However, no sooner had they settled than they realized this was not an unknown land, but the West Wilderness!
They had sailed in a perfect arc, delivering themselves into the Elves' occupied territory.
Before long, two Elven teams appeared near the camp.
Because of the overnight evacuation, the Darkspear had not brought many weapons.
If they were to engage the Elves in battle now, they would likely be annihilated.
The Darkspear Chieftain decided to talk with the Elves, so he walked out of the camp alone and stood before the Elven army.
"I am the Chieftain of the Darkspear, and I wish to speak with your leader."
"Are you here to surrender?" Nova Baron asked playfully.
The Darkspear Chieftain shook his head: "I know there is hatred between Trolls and Elves, but we Darkspear are now refugees and pose no threat to you.
We hope that you, as civilized people, will allow us to leave."
Nova Baron shook his head, "Impossible.
I don't care whether you are refugees or not; in the Kaldorei Empire, Trolls only have two treatments: one is as enemies, to be killed on sight, and the other is as captives, to surrender obediently."
The Darkspear Chieftain tried to argue further, but Nova Baron waved his hand to interrupt him, "I will give you half an hour.
If you do not surrender in half an hour, I will lead my army to attack.
If you try to escape, I will also launch an attack!"
The Darkspear Chieftain, helpless, could only return to the camp and tell the Trolls what had happened.
Some Trolls were very emotional, "Let's fight the Elves!
We have thousands of people; are we afraid of their few hundred?"
Some Trolls were very dejected, "The Elves are well-equipped, not only with Rangers leading the battle but also Mages; we are no match for them at all.
Even if we are completely wiped out, we can't defeat them."
The two sides began to argue.
The Witch Doctor then leaned closer to the Chieftain, "Chieftain, perhaps we can reveal Hakkar's situation to the Elves.
I remember that the reason Hakkar fled Azeroth was that he was driven away by the Elves."
The Chieftain thought for a moment, "But what if the Elves are also no match for Hakkar?"
The Witch Doctor lowered his head and chuckled: "Then we can use Hakkar to weaken the Elves; as long as the Elves and Hakkar fight, it will be advantageous for us."
The Chieftain said in a deep voice: "But in that case, we will only have surrender as an option."
"We are not familiar with seafaring at all; even if we leave the West Wilderness, we might all die at sea.
Rather than that, it's better to surrender to the Elves.
Although we will become captives, our tribe can continue to exist," the Witch Doctor said: "The Gurubashi Trolls have already weakened; we must preserve the hope of revival for the Gurubashi Trolls."
The Chieftain was waiting for a suitable reason, and now the Witch Doctor had provided it, so he immediately loudly stopped the Trolls' argument.
"Stop arguing, all of you."
"Didn't we escape Stranglethorn Vale because we wanted to preserve the spark for our tribe?
Now, if we get on a ship, we will also be pursued by the Elven navy, and ultimately, we cannot escape the fate of total death.
Therefore, to preserve the spark, I have decided to surrender to the Elves.
We are not afraid of death, but rather enduring humiliation for the future of the Darkspear.
Only by living can we create hope and await the opportunity to break free from the Elves."
Regardless of their emotions, the Trolls had to accept the Chieftain's words.
So, the Trolls surrendered to Nova Baron.
As the Chieftain approached Nova Baron, he revealed the information about Hakkar.
Indeed, Nova Baron's expression became solemn, and he quickly walked away.
