"Heh, relax—I don't mean you any harm."
Chen Xi smiled warmly at Apocalypse, amused by how tense the ancient being seemed.
"Ah!! It's you!!! My idol!!!"
The young mutant Ronat practically exploded with excitement, jumping up and down like an overzealous fan.
Psylocke's beautiful eyes sparkled as she gazed at Chen Xi in admiration. She hadn't expected her idol to be a mutant as well. His powers were like Superman's—but somehow different. In short, he was simply invincible.
Angel Warren was equally moved, though the hardships he had endured had tempered his enthusiasm somewhat.
"What do you want to say?"
Apocalypse quickly calmed down, his ancient composure returning. Thousands of years of ruling had made his mentality steady as a rock.
"I'd like to recommend someone to you," Chen Xi said casually. "Someone who could outshine any mutant as one of your Four Horsemen."
"Oh?" Apocalypse raised an eyebrow. "Who?"
"Magneto."
Chen Xi smiled with confidence.
Immediately, the image and information of the fearsome mutant appeared in Apocalypse's mind. The infamous leader of mutants—his power alone was enough to destroy heaven and earth. If Apocalypse were to enhance him even further, he would indeed be a worthy Horseman.
Following Chen Xi's suggestion, Apocalypse soon located Magneto, who was in the midst of rallying other mutants. Yet when Apocalypse proposed that he become one of his Four Horsemen, Magneto flatly refused.
Why should I give up being my own boss to become someone else's lackey?
Unless he'd lost his mind, there was no way Magneto would agree to something so absurd.
"You're still too weak," Apocalypse rasped, gesturing confidently toward his newly empowered followers. "Look at their transformation. Follow me, and you'll understand—it's the only right choice."
Magneto glanced at Psylocke and Angel—mutants he'd already heard of. Seeing how drastically Angel's appearance and power had changed, he was shocked. This monster did that?
"Fine then," Magneto said cunningly. "If you can enhance me too, I'll consider it."
He was clearly testing the waters—getting the "free trial" before committing.
"Good."
Apocalypse chuckled knowingly. He could read Magneto's thoughts easily, but he was utterly confident that once Magneto experienced true power, he'd never walk away.
Raising his hand, Apocalypse placed it against Magneto's forehead and unleashed his ancient power.
At once, Magneto's perception exploded. His control over magnetic fields underwent an earth-shattering transformation.
"This… this…!!"
Magneto stared in disbelief at his own hands. Even with his usually calm demeanor, he couldn't suppress his astonishment.
His magnetic power had previously worked only on metal—but now, he could feel the magnetic fields in stone itself, and manipulate them!
The revelation left him both stunned and ecstatic. He never thought that, after all these years, he could feel such vitality again.
"So?" Apocalypse pressed, eyes gleaming. "If you—and your people—join me, every mutant will share this gift."
His gaze swept toward Magneto's followers.
"Boss, do it! We can all become stronger!"
"Yeah, boss! If we're stronger, we can finally stop running from the Sentinels!"
"Boss, please—say yes!"
"Come on, boss!"
Before Magneto could even decide, his subordinates had already agreed for him.
"Impressive," Magneto muttered, giving Apocalypse a reluctant thumbs-up. "You really know how to make an entrance. Hard to say no after that."
And thus, Magneto—the future Horseman of Apocalypse—took his place.
At that very moment, Charles Xavier, recklessly using Cerebro, made contact with Apocalypse.
The unexpected intrusion took Apocalypse by surprise—and then delight.
"Incredible!" Apocalypse exclaimed, his usually calm tone cracking with excitement.
"What did you see?" one of his Horsemen asked.
"The answer I've been searching for…" Apocalypse murmured.
Meanwhile, in Cerebro, Charles froze—then his pupils turned pitch black. His face twisted with a manic, ecstatic grin.
"I've never felt such power!" he shouted in delirious awe.
Everyone around him recoiled in horror. This wasn't Charles anymore.
Through Charles, Apocalypse had found everything he sought.
"The world before me—no more stones, no more spears, no more catapults!"
His voice trembled with unstoppable exhilaration.
By invading Charles's mind, he had linked himself directly to every soldier guarding the world's nuclear arsenals.
He had found his answer.
As the synchronized keys turned in the silos across the globe—everything was about to end.
"No more weapons!" Apocalypse roared."No more governments! No more systems! No superpowers!"
BOOM!!!
Around the world, missile silos burst open simultaneously.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
In an instant, the planet erupted in chaos—screams, shouts, and panic echoing across every nation. The end of the world had come.
"You may fire your arrows from the Tower of Babel," Apocalypse thundered, his voice booming through every mind on Earth, "but you will never challenge God!"
He stood tall, arms spread wide, declaring himself as the God of this world.
Countless nuclear missiles rose into the atmosphere, disappearing into the void—then detonated spectacularly in orbit.
Fireworks of destruction illuminated the sky, encircling the Earth in a crown of flame. The image would forever be burned into human memory.
A moment later, Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen materialized, seizing Charles and vanishing into the night.
Chen Xi didn't intervene. Sometimes, he thought, you had to let professionals handle their area of expertise.
And when it came to demolition—Apocalypse and Magneto were professionals. Their destructive power was unmatched, perfect for reshaping the world.
After the "nuclear fireworks" display, it was time for Apocalypse to formally announce his return.
"All humans, listen carefully," his voice boomed across every mind on Earth. "I offer this warning to every human and mutant alike—you have lost your way. But I… have returned."
"The hour of judgment is here. Your monuments, your towers, your empires—all will fall!"
"A new age is dawning, one you cannot stop!"
Across the globe, billions of people froze in terror, hearing the same voice echoing in their heads.
The meaning behind those words chilled them to the bone—but what terrified them even more was the one who could speak directly into the minds of billions.
As his final words faded, Apocalypse rose high into the skies above Cairo, stretching his hands wide.
In an instant, skyscrapers, cars, trees—everything—crumbled to dust and swirled into the air, transforming into a raging sandstorm that gathered around him.
Kneeling on one knee, Magneto slammed his hand onto the ground, unleashing a magnetic shockwave so vast it seemed to shake all of Egypt.
For the first time, humanity truly witnessed the terrifying might of mutants.
Were they still human—or were they gods? Was this something mankind could ever hope to match?
