Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: He is Henry

Mazhar pushed open the door and found his boss, Soro, sitting comfortably in a small cowhide chair behind a large desk, with a strange scent lingering in the air.

"Boss, Robert still refuses to speak."

"Tomorrow, you and Carter take ten men and directly abduct Robert's daughter. It's only right to repay debts. Then, a dozen big men will line up and take turns with her in front of him. I'd like to see if he can still be stubborn," Soro ordered.

"How should we handle Miss Sinclair?" Mazhar asked.

"Be careful not to hurt her, just scare her. With ten guns pointed at her, she'll probably wet herself, hahaha. She made us waste so many days, hiss," Soro said with a satisfied look on his cruel face.

"What if she has guards?"

"Guards don't matter. Just don't kill them on the spot."

"Yes, I know what to do," Mazhar said, bowing and retreating.

---

During this period, New York had over fifty gangs of various sizes, with the most powerful being the Whist Gang.

They inherited the legacy of the Dead Rabbit Gang. Under the leadership of their boss, Mike, they were comprised of thieves and murderers, dominating the entire New York Underground World.

This gang was more violent and ruthless than all previous gangs.

Other gangs had to obtain the Whist Gang's approval before undertaking any significant activities.

They were so arrogant that they even brazenly listed their prices for violence.

Beating: $2.

Black eye: $4.

Broken nose and jaw: $10.

Twisted ear: $15.

Broken arm or leg: $19.

Shot in the thigh: $20.

Stabbing: $25.

Murder: $100 and above.

Another major gang was the Short Tail Gang.

This gang primarily operated in the Riverside and Coastal districts, focusing on robberies on the water.

The fact that Rachel's father, Robert, was dealt with so severely this time definitely involved a major gang or even official figures.

After all, Robert had managed to thrive in such a complex environment for so many years, so he must have had some tricks up his sleeve. It wasn't just anyone who could seize his assets.

So, Henry primarily read the files of these two gangs.

He found that the information was incredibly detailed, and the things these two gangs had done were enough to send them all to hell eighteen times over.

Moreover, the Tammany Association's shadow loomed behind both gangs.

No wonder these two gangs could quickly grow strong enough to dominate their respective territories.

"I hope they'll be sensible tomorrow."

Henry murmured to himself as he put away the intelligence files and went to wash up.

The next morning at nine o'clock, Henry arrived at the entrance of Sinclair Manor in a Berline carriage.

After Lyon opened the carriage door, Henry stepped out and waited quietly.

He was wearing a black hard-brimmed top hat, a white shirt and black vest, black breeches, and black work boots.

Soon, Alice quickly walked out.

She was wearing a white bustle gown evening dress adorned with lace and sheer fabric, and white silk gloves, making her appear noble, elegant, pure, and captivating.

After both of them got into the carriage, they sat facing each other, and the coachman drove the Berline directly towards Sinclair Farm.

Henry noticed Alice's mixture of eagerness and nervousness, so he smiled and said, "Just say whatever you want then. Think of those ruffians as puppets."

Alice gently patted Henry's left knee with her right hand and smiled, "You can't make fun of me."

"How could I? Your words today are the highest decree, and I will do my best to help you achieve them," Henry said earnestly.

Alice smiled gently and said, "Henry, thank you. Without you, I wouldn't know what to do today. But you really speak much better than before; you're very good at charming women now."

Henry immediately detected the trap behind Alice's gentle smile.

"Is that so? I'm just stating a fact. I'm glad you like it," Henry said with a frank expression.

Alice felt a sweetness in her heart and changed the subject, asking, "The Colt 1877 pistol you gave me is very exquisite. I love it. Does it have a story?"

"Indeed, it was mine—"

As they chatted and laughed, about twenty minutes quickly passed, and the carriage arrived at Sinclair Farm.

As soon as they got out of the carriage and stood firm, a girl in a black and white striped bustle dress quickly walked out of the Farm, saying, "Good morning, Alice."

Alice happily said, "Good morning, Rachel. This is Henry Bruce, my good friend since childhood. Henry, this is my best classmate and friend, Rachel Murphy."

Henry smiled as he looked at the girl, who bore more than a ninety percent resemblance to Rachel, the female lead in the movie "The Mummy." However, a thought couldn't help but arise in his mind—is God messing with me?

"Good morning, Miss Murphy. It's a pleasure to meet you," Henry said with a gentle expression.

"Good morning, Mr. Bruce. It's a pleasure to meet you too," Rachel bowed slightly.

"Let's go. We'll go talk to them now," Alice said.

So the two girls got into the carriage first, sitting on one side, and Henry got in and sat on the opposite side.

Along the way, the two girls whispered, discussing how to negotiate with the ruffians. Today was indeed a big adventure for them.

Henry sat opposite them, maintaining a smile and enjoying the young versions of the two English roses from his previous life, feeling very pleased. He didn't even feel stifled sitting inside the carriage.

Rachel kept an eye on Henry while talking to Alice.

When she heard Alice say that there were no other guards, only Henry protecting them, she immediately felt uneasy.

After all, Henry looked completely like a refined young master from a prominent family. Although he was tall and robust, they were going to negotiate with ruffians, who wouldn't be polite. Henry wasn't carrying any weapons, so could he be effective alone?

Alice only noticed her friend's distraction after a while and immediately realized something. She smiled and whispered, "You don't have to worry, he is Henry, that Henry!"

Rachel looked at Alice with a confused expression, thinking, "I know he's Henry, so what?"

Alice said, "It seems you haven't read the New York Sun these past three days. But we're almost there now. I'll tell you about him later. Don't worry, if Henry says it's fine, then it's definitely fine."

Rachel also quickly noticed they were almost at their destination and could only suppress the doubts in her heart, a sense of nervousness rising within her.

The carriage soon stopped in front of a four-story apartment building. After they got out, they saw three slovenly white men in their twenties at the entrance of the ground floor of the apartment building, along with a sealed carriage pulled by two horses.
