Zyra hurried back into the warehouse house, she tried to find her way back to Emily. Veyron's guard came up to her and she was willing to let them take her.
They went through doors and then a metal elevator she had somehow managed to miss. It was the only place that didn't need a fingerprint or face recognition, simply a key. The elevator took them up to the top floor where Veyron sat comfortably and poised as if expecting her arrival.
It was the first time Zyra had seen him physically, not through screens or holograms. She sucked her teeth walking closer to him.
"Shouldn't you watch your step, Nyx?". He heard her footsteps as they got into the room.
"Shouldn't you watch your back?". She spoke calmly and bluntly.
He turned his chair around, their eyes meeting each other's. The same strength and boldness in her eyes, but this time, there was no trace of fear or self-doubt; she looked completely whole, and Veyron realized that love had healed her.
