Victor, Drew, and Zyra drove back to the spot where Grandma Ophelia's house should be, and there the oak tree still stood, occupying the land. They all stepped out of the car and walked closer to the tree just about an inch away from the protective force. Zyra had been pushed back by it before so she had marked the exact space between it and the tree.
Zyra took a deep breath before cutting herself again. The prophecy said, "The blood of the unknown unlocks the way to any part". Zyra didn't completely know what she was yet because it seemed Grandma Ophelia had hidden things from her.
She poured out her blood on the line that was now only visible to her—and stepped back a bit before turning to look at her husband and then Drew.
"Whatever happens". She spoke determined to do it but unsure if it was worth it, worth leaving Victor alone in this dangerous place.
