Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 — Cracks On The Barrier

Rakan stood still on the open ground.

Around him were many werewolves. They did not speak. They did not move. Their eyes were fixed on the sky. The land beneath their feet was dry and old, filled with scars from battles long forgotten. Broken trees surrounded them like silent guards.

The air felt heavy.

They were waiting.

Rakan slowly lifted his head. The moon was rising. At first, it was dull and calm, but with every passing second, its light grew stronger. Silver light poured down on the ground, touching the bodies of the werewolves.

Rakan smiled.

"This is it," he said quietly.

The werewolves felt it too. Their hearts beat faster. Their blood burned. The power they had been holding back for generations was waking up.

The moon glowed brighter than ever before.

Far away, in the Castle of Foreverness, something strange happened.

A deep sound echoed through the walls of the castle. It was low, like the cry of the world itself. The ground shook slightly. Lamps flickered. The air felt wrong.

A thin crack appeared in the sky beyond the castle walls.

Aijack stood on one of the high towers. His eyes widened the moment he saw it.

The barrier.

The ancient barrier that separated vampires and werewolves.

It was cracking.

Aijack clenched his fists. His expression turned serious.

"So… the day has come," he said.

Without wasting time, he turned and rushed through the halls of the castle. His footsteps echoed loudly as he moved with urgency. He found Klein near the central hall.

"Klein!" Aijack shouted.

Klein turned, sensing the danger instantly. "What is it?"

"The barrier is breaking," Aijack said. "Announce it to the whole castle. Prepare everyone. No one stays unready."

Klein's face hardened.

"I understand."

He raised his hand, activating the castle's announcement system. His voice spread through every hall, every room, every corner of the Castle of Foreverness.

"All vampires, listen carefully," Klein announced. "The barrier is cracking. This is not a drill. Prepare yourselves. The time we feared has arrived."

The castle went silent for a moment.

Then chaos began.

Vampires moved fast. Armor was taken out. Weapons were prepared. Leaders gathered their squads. The calm days were over.

The ancient war was waking up again.

Meanwhile, in another place far from the castle, Oban was still inside the virtual world.

He stood before a massive mage.

The mage was not like a normal person. It was huge, like a walking structure. Layers upon layers of magical energy covered its body. Each layer felt like a wall.

Oban stared at it.

"This thing is… vast," he muttered.

The system had locked his skills. His blade was gone. No speed boost. No special powers.

Only his body.

Only himself.

He took a deep breath and thought.

"The doll is inside," he said. "So I need to break through."

Since he was a vampire by nature, his body was still strong. His muscles were tough. His fists clenched.

He jumped forward.

Boom!

His punch landed on the mage's outer layer. The sound echoed like thunder. Cracks appeared, but the layer did not break fully.

"Tch," Oban clicked his tongue. "This will take time."

He punched again.

And again.

Each layer was harder than the last. Magical energy pushed back, sending shockwaves through his arms. Hours passed. Sweat ran down his face. His hands ached, but he did not stop.

Layer by layer, he broke through.

His knuckles bled.

His breathing grew heavy.

But he kept going.

"I won't stop," Oban said to himself. "Not now."

Finally, after what felt like endless time, he broke through the last layer.

Inside, he saw it.

A small doll.

It looked simple. Cloth body. Button eyes. Nothing special at first glance.

Oban slowly reached out and grabbed it.

The moment he touched it—

The world froze.

The system flickered into view.

[Quest Complete]

Oban exhaled in relief.

"Finally."

The doll in his hand began to glow. It slowly changed shape, turning into a small gift box wrapped in light.

Oban raised an eyebrow.

"A gift?"

He opened it.

Inside was a strange table, small but detailed. Symbols glowed on its surface. It felt ancient and powerful.

The system spoke again.

"New reward acquired."

"Crafting Table."

"This is a magical table," the system explained. "You can create items anytime."

Oban's eyes widened.

"Any item?" he asked.

"That sounds amazing."

But then the system continued.

"Usage requires coins. Free use is restricted."

Oban frowned.

"Coins?" he asked. "What coins?"

Before he could ask more—

The system vanished.

The virtual world collapsed into light.

Oban felt his body pulled back.

He opened his eyes.

He was back in his room inside the Castle of Foreverness.

The silence felt strange.

Oban sat up slowly.

"That system…" he muttered. "It disappeared again."

He looked at his hands. The crafting table was gone, but he could still feel its presence, like it was stored somewhere beyond sight.

"I'll deal with that later," he said.

But before he could relax—

A powerful pressure filled the air.

Oban stood up quickly and looked out the window.

Far in the distance, the sky was breaking.

The barrier.

It was no longer just cracked.

Suddenly A Portal appear on Outside Of the Castle
