Chapter 82 - The Final Hundred Floors

Before I said my last goodbye to Aarvak, I felt one final call deep inside the pendant's realm.

It came like a heartbeat — strong, eager, waiting. The Tower of Trials wasn't finished with me yet.

"A hundred"A hundred more floors," I whispered to the wind. "For memory, for mastery, for farewell."

The masters had already given me their blessings, but the warrior in me knew peace only after testing strength one last time. Elyra smiled knowingly as I touched the pendant.

"I'll wait by the shore," she said gently. "Finish your climb, Keeper."

Light flashed. The island vanished.

The familiar silence of the Infinite Tower surrounded me again—air alive with energy, walls lined with glowing runes that remembered every battle I'd fought.

For days, I climbed through firestorms, frozen valleys, and labyrinths of illusion. Each floor fought differently; each victory carried weight.

But when I crossed the hundredth step beyond the sixtieth floor, the tower trembled like a living creature — walls shifting, symbols reforming.

A deep voice echoed through the dimension.

"You have reached the Seat of Eminence. The Ten Guardians beyond this point serve not as trials but as equals."

Ten doors appeared in a circle of light. Each shone with a different hue — gold, violet, silver, emerald, azure, crimson, and colours unnamed by human eyes.

One by one, I walked through each, and with every passage, another guardian answered my call.

1. Solara—Guardian of Radiance Solara—Guardian of Radiance

A woman made of sunlight stood before me, her armour gilded with flame that didn't burn. She raised her spear, light trailing behind.

"Child of balance," she said, "I am Solara, a flamea flame that heals."

Her power was Solar Grace—energy that transformed destruction into creation. Wherever her fire touched, it rebuilt instead of burning. Burnt. She became the eternal dawn beside Ignis's day.

2. Noctis—Shadow of Celestia Noctis—Shadow of Celestia

When light fell silent, I found him standing within an endless night. Cloak woven from stars, face half‑hidden, eyes calm as black glass.

"I am Noctis," he said quietly, "keeper of the unseen."

His power, Starveil, allowed him to bend darkness into mirrors of truth — illusions revealing what hearts tried to hide. Shadow became honesty in his hands.

3. Sylphara—Wind Spirit of Freedom Sylphara—Wind Spirit of Freedom

She descended in a swirl of silver feathers, laughter echoing softly as bells.

"Do you remember your first breath?" she asked. "I am every breath that ever gave courage."

Her gift, Aether Dance, controlled all forms of air and speed. When she sang, the world itself lightened; when she wept, even storms bowed still.

4. Dravos — Dragon of Crimson Storms

The next gate opened with thunder. A massive dragon rose from molten rock, eyes blazing molten gold.

"Little god‑bearer," his voice rumbled, "I am Dravos, fury made loyal."

His power, Draconic Pulse, commanded primal energy — fire, storm, and life-woven blood. Yet behind his roar lived the vow never to harm the innocent again.

5. Kaelen—Warden of Order

I found him in a hall of silver laws, each pillar carved with ancient runes. His armour gleamed white and black, symbols of justice and mercy embedded together.

"I guard the equilibrium of will," Kaelen said steadily. "Chaos follows passion; my power is choice within that storm."

His gift, Judgement Sigil, stabilised dying dimensions and reforged boundaries. Kaelen became the law's calm heart among the gods.

6. Lumire—Herald of Light

She appeared as a ray breaking through endless rain, her presence so gentle it felt like warmth after sorrow.

"Every tear holds light," Lumire said, touching my hand.

Her ability, Luminous Field, spread light that healed thought itself — erasing despair, rekindling hope. Even memories darkened by regret brightened under her glow.

7. Zephriel—Seraph of Aurora

High above the ninety‑fourth floor, wings unfolded — seven vast plumes painted with dawn's spectrum. His voice carried both power and peace.

"Where wind meets flame, where stars breathe day—there I am," he said.

His power, Aurora Domain, merged elements into harmony. He could weave colour into energy, transforming emotion into strength.

8. Naia—Spirit of Tides

The chamber turned into an endless sea. A woman rose from the waves, her hair cascading in foamy ribbons, her eyes swirling like tidepools.

"I am Naia, mirror of the moon," she said softly.

Her ability, Ocean Rebirth, granted her control over time through water — every ripple she touched became memory, every wave restoration.

9. Orionis—Watcher of Stars

Deep within a field of floating constellations stood a man cloaked in galaxies. Each movement reshaped space itself.

"I see paths far beyond sight," he said. "I am Orionis, guide of direction lost."

His gift, Stellar Compass, mapped futures and pasts together, allowing travel beyond known time. He was the navigator of destiny's sky.

10. Aeris and Vetra—Guardians of Dual Pulse

The final door led to twin figures floating hand in hand — one glowing azure, the other bright crimson.

"We are Aeris and Vetra," they spoke in unison, "two hearts born from one rhythm."

Aeris commanded the breath of creation — Vital Pulse, the force that gave life motion.

Vetra wielded Celestial Surge, turning raw energy into protective barriers strong enough to guard civilisations.

Together, their powers fused into Twin Flow, the unity between existence and will.

When I knelt before them, they bowed instead. "Not master nor servant," Aeris said. "We are halves of your heartbeat."

When the tenth guardian accepted me, the Tower's walls dissolved into an infinite horizon.

All sixteen guardians appeared around me — faces of energy, loyalty, and timeless light. Together, they lowered their weapons in salute.

"Keeper of Souls," Noctis said softly, "the Tower stands complete. You carry every element of creation within you now—light, dark, sound, history, and dream."

Solara's voice echoed after. "Use us not to conquer, but to preserve."

I pressed my fist over the pendant, glowing brighter than ever. "Always."

The realm pulsed once, acknowledging our bond.

When the glow faded, I stood again on Aarvak's summit. Elyra waited at the edge, the sea glinting behind her.

She smiled as I approached. "You found them all."

"They found me," I corrected gently.

The masters' hall glimmered faintly below, their silhouettes watching quietly from afar — proud, patient, ready to let go.

Elyra brushed her fingers over my pendant. It sparkled with ten new symbols circling the old.

"So many voices," she whispered, smiling. "Your second family."

"And each one," I said softly, gazing out over the ocean, "another promise to keep."

The wind carried their names through the sky—Solara, Noctis, Sylphara, Dravos, Kaelen, Lumire, Zephriel, Naia, Orionis, Aeris, and Vetra—weaving into Aeons' song as I turned toward the dawning horizon.
