"Either the crows were drawn to a specific presence," Lilith said coldly, "or someone here deliberately summoned them."

"Then who must've summoned them?" Lord Cassius asked coldly.
"Who knows, maybe one of the students did." Lilith said dryly.

Hazel slipped into her dorm and quietly shut the door. She didn't want Mrs. Frost spotting her and starting another round of questions.
She walked to the window, and rested her hands on the ledge. Lifting one hand, she wiped her cheeks. The tears earlier had been nothing but a facade, just enough to make them release her.
Truthfully, she didn't even know what she was.
Still, Mrs. Frost's words lingered.
The crows had every chance to attack her.
Yet they didn't.
They went for Xavier instead.
A sudden flutter made her tense.
A crow landed on the window.
Hazel took a step back, fearfully.
It only stared at her while she stared at it too.
