Chapter 203 - Chapter 8: Then I'll Go Meet Them Myself

For a Predator civilization capable of interstellar travel, hacking into Earth's computers didn't take long.

Different languages and encoding formats barely slowed them down.

Before long, the system was breached.

All relevant data was extracted.

Inside the Hive, Morin was having the Red Queen transfer additional files into his USB drive.

"A branch base system has been compromised," the Red Queen said suddenly. "Although I deleted most of the data immediately, the intruder still obtained a large portion."

"Based on the attack traces, their target was Biological Experiment A04."

A04.

The Alien drone.

Aliens had multiple variants. Drones. Queens. Facehuggers. Eggs.

Which meant Umbrella had likely acquired all of them.

Morin had to admit it.

That was impressive.

If they hadn't discovered a way to safely contain Alien blood, they probably wouldn't have frozen the specimens at all.

They would've already started dissecting them.

"Who did it?" Morin asked. His chest tightened. "Do we have footage?"

Very few entities could breach the Red Queen's system.

And even fewer would go straight for Alien data.

His thoughts drifted to the worst-case scenario he had imagined earlier.

...Was he cursed today?

"Combined camera footage captured only a few frames," the Red Queen replied, projecting the images.

Morin glanced at the screen.

Yep.

He really was cursed.

Every bad thought he had today came true.

If this followed the worst-case path-locate the Aliens, release them, let them reproduce, and-

Morin shook his head.

The unease didn't go away.

Given his luck today...

"What is that?" Alice asked.

"An Alien," Morin sighed. "The enemy of the creature I killed earlier in Restaurant B."

"I remember you saying that thing was extremely dangerous," Rain said. She had been quiet for a while. "Then isn't this good for us?"

"That creature is called an Alien because it's a perfect killing machine," Morin said. "It adapts its abilities based on its host's physique. No fixed form."

"That's why it's called an Alien."

"Their reproduction relies on another organism Umbrella labeled Biological Experiment A02."

"It's spider-like, with a long tail. I prefer the name Facehugger."

"Because that's exactly what it does."

"It jumps. Wraps around a host's face. Uses its tail to strangle the neck."

"Then it implants an Alien embryo through its mouth."

"The embryo grows inside the host, absorbs its genetic traits, and strengthens itself."

"When it matures, it bursts out."

"A new Alien."

Morin paused.

"The reason I sighed is simple."

"These Aliens are training tools."

"For another alien race."

"The Predators."

"They choose certain planets as hunting grounds. Breed Aliens there."

"When a young Predator reaches maturity, they bring them to those planets."

"They use the native creatures-what they consider slaves-as hosts."

"When the Aliens mature, the hunt begins."

"Those who survive become adults."

He looked around.

"So imagine this."

"The Predators arrive on Earth."

"They discover their hunting ground has been cleaned out."

"The slaves are still alive."

"And their prey has been shipped to Umbrella facilities across the world."

"What do you think a species that worships war, blood, and slaughter will do to a civilization far weaker than itself?"

"My God..." Alice murmured.

The others were even worse.

The information overload hit hard.

Before one enemy was resolved, a far greater one had already stepped onto the board.

"But this is still just a guess," Morin said, waving his hand. "Worst case."

"If it happens, we deal with it."

He changed the topic smoothly.

"I've reviewed all relevant data."

"Red Queen. If you can track the Predators, record everything they do and transmit it to me."

"As you wish, sir."

The Red Queen bowed, smiling sweetly.

"Good," Morin said. "Next, we're going to the Ark."

"Better to handle some things early."

"Please proceed to the control panel before the defense corridor," the Red Queen said.

The group moved.

The panel activated and began descending.

As it dropped, the Hive's lowest level was revealed.

Noah's Ark.

The sanctuary for Umbrella's highest executives.

Not just executives.

Powerful figures.

Wealthy elites.

All sealed in cryogenic pods.

Sleeping peacefully.

Buried beneath layers of protection that would take more than ten nuclear warheads to breach.

Waiting for the so-called Day of Judgment.

Dr. Isaacs saw himself as God.

The T-virus was his flood.

An apocalypse.

Afterward, he would awaken, release an antidote, erase all infected life, and claim purification.

Then rule a new era.

Morin had arrived instead.

And he brought a gift.

He also thought-briefly-that if an Alien Queen ever found this place, she would be ecstatic.

Perfect hosts.

Alive.

Motionless.

The gift Morin left wasn't large.

It wasn't heavy.

Just a slightly more hardcore collectible from a shut-in.

If the clones outside already had their memories, then replacement wouldn't be a problem.

As long as the originals were gone.

The clones would become real people.

And maybe they wouldn't inherit these rotten personalities.

Two birds. One stone.

"This is a nuclear bomb," Morin said, pulling out a large suitcase-sized device. "I brought it from my villa."

"It'll send everything here where they want to go."

"Heaven or Hell isn't my decision."

"I just handle delivery."

Hardcore.

Literal.

"Red Queen," Morin asked, "you have satellite backups?"

"Yes, sir."

"Good. Then evacuate Raccoon City."

"You know how."

Morin placed the bomb onto the platform and set the timer.

Forty-eight hours.

Plenty of time.

In the end, Morin realized something.

The only thing worth saving in Umbrella...

...was the Red Queen.

Nothing else mattered.

"Yes, sir."

She immediately began issuing commands.

Using Alicia's identity and clearance.

Efficient use of resources.

As they spoke, the platform reached the deepest level.

The resting place of Umbrella's highest authority.

The group entered the expansive conference chamber.

High-end technology.

Luxury decor.

Everything was pristine.

"Is she here?" Alice asked quietly.

"Yes," Morin said. "Alicia Marcus. Chairwoman of Umbrella."

"Isaacs holds fewer shares than her. Ironically."

"She's just... weak-willed."

"Red Queen. Wake them."

The Red Queen was only permitted to awaken Isaacs and Alicia during total apocalypse-level emergencies.

But Morin's clearance overrode that.

And honestly-

This qualified.

Thawing.

Restoring biological activity.

Technology meant for deep-space travel.

Used instead to hide underground.

Same tools.

Different intentions.

Umbrella could've shaped the future.

Instead, Isaacs dragged it into hell.

The freeze released.

Dr. Isaacs stepped out, barely conscious.

He didn't even have time to process his surroundings.

Morin grabbed his hair.

A kick followed.

Direct.

Even with enhanced reflex systems and predictive chips, Isaacs couldn't respond.

His mind reacted.

His body didn't.

Morin removed the antidote vial and stored it.

Then broke all four of Isaacs's limbs.

Clean.

Efficient.

For a villain like him, nothing was excessive.

"The rest is yours," Morin said to Alice.

"I still have aliens to deal with."

"Let's go."

That last part was for the assault team.

There was nothing left for them here.

"Red Queen," Morin said, "report Predator activity."

"Locations and actions."

"Tokyo. London. New York. Greece. Egypt," she replied. "These bases have been attacked."

"In successful attacks, the A-series creatures were released."

"They withdrew afterward."

"Two Predators are currently attacking the Hive's surface entrance."

"So I was right," Morin said.

He stretched his arms.

Not surprised.

The Sword of Eden appeared in his hand.

"Then I'll go meet them."

"Where are they?" an Umbrella guard shouted, panicked. "Where's the enemy?"

A hand rested on his shoulder.

Warm.

Steady.

The fear drained instantly.

"Easy, brother," Morin said with a faint smile.
