A week passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, Emiya once again came to Haruhi Suzumiya's world, arriving at the SOS Brigade clubroom.
School had already ended.
Everyone was present.
Haruhi Suzumiya.
The Great Nagato.
Mikuru Asahina.
And a handsome boy Emiya hadn't seen before-Itsuki Koizumi.
"I'll introduce you," Haruhi said, patting Emiya on the shoulder. "This is the vice-leader of our SOS Brigade. Emiya. He's from another world."
The introduction was clearly aimed at Koizumi.
After all, Emiya had already met Nagato and senior Asahina.
"Nice to meet you, Vice-Leader," Koizumi said, brushing his hair aside with a bright smile. "So people from other worlds really do exist."
"What are you saying?" Haruhi frowned. "Did you think I was joking this whole time?"
Koizumi hurriedly apologized, smiling wryly.
"Well, someone from another world is a big deal. It's normal to have doubts until you see it for yourself, right?"
Haruhi snorted, clearly letting it slide.
Emiya nodded.
"Nice to meet you, little brother Koizumi."
Koizumi's smile stiffened.
Compared to Emiya, he really was younger.
Emiya clicked his tongue.
"You've really gathered everyone. Why didn't you invite Kyon too?"
"He's just a boring straight man," Haruhi said impatiently. "What's the point of dragging someone like that along?"
Emiya smiled bitterly.
"In a way, I really am a sinner."
"If you know that, then take responsibility!" Haruhi shot back.
"You know people can get married at sixteen here, right?"
"I'm not desperate enough to go after a minor," Emiya replied flatly.
To avoid the topic spiraling further, he changed the subject.
"By the way, are the things I asked for ready?"
"They're all here," Haruhi said, kicking a box on the floor.
Emiya walked over, lifted the box, and dumped its contents onto the table.
Clatter.
A pile of smartphones spilled out.
Emiya nodded in satisfaction.
Flip phones were ugly.
That was why he had specifically asked the Great Nagato to redesign them as smartphones.
Now they looked much better.
"These won't break easily, right?" Emiya asked.
Before Nagato could answer, Haruhi gave a thumbs-up.
"Don't worry. Nagato reinforced them. They won't break even if you throw them into lava."
"Good." Emiya nodded.
He stuffed all the phones into his pockets.
With his Spatial Fruit ability, his pockets were basically a dimensional storage space.
A hundred phones were nothing.
He could fit an entire shopping mall if he wanted.
"So," Emiya said, "do you guys have any plans? If not, want to grab a meal with me?"
"Where?" Haruhi asked immediately.
"Another world. Kikukaro. Sichuan."
"I wanna go! I wanna go!" Haruhi raised her hand enthusiastically.
The others didn't object.
Even if they wanted to, Haruhi wouldn't listen.
So the decision was made.
Led by Emiya, they headed to Kikukaro.
Japanese schools ended early.
When they arrived, it was only four in the afternoon.
Still far from dinnertime.
Emiya took them around the area first.
The rustic environment left everyone stunned.
In modern society, places like this were rare.
Especially in China.
Haruhi and the others wandered around, completely absorbed.
When dinner time finally came, Emiya brought them back to Kikukaro.
And let them witness glowing food.
Light shot skyward.
Even Haruhi was speechless.
"What is this?" she asked, pointing at a plate of mapo tofu.
"Why is it glowing?"
"This world's specialty," Emiya said calmly.
"If food is delicious, it glows. If it doesn't glow, it's not worth eating."
Haruhi: ...
Mikuru: ...
Koizumi: ...
Only Nagato remained expressionless.
She calmly picked up a piece of tofu and ate.
Emiya clapped his hands.
"Alright. Eat while it's hot."
After a full meal, Emiya sent the stuffed SOS Brigade back to their world.
He said goodbye and returned to Kikukaro.
He went into the kitchen.
Madam Pai was there.
So were Erina Nakiri, Hisako Arato, and a group of assistants.
It was peak dinner time.
Orders were nonstop.
Little Star Mao stood on a stool, cutting vegetables.
Despite his age, his knife work was smooth and confident.
Clearly talented.
His sister Karin couldn't handle a knife yet, but she was diligent at washing and sorting ingredients.
When everything finally wrapped up, it was already nine at night.
Kikukaro closed for the day.
Emiya gathered everyone.
"Master, you've returned," Mao said, bowing respectfully.
Emiya smiled and patted his head.
After checking Mao's progress, he found that due to his young age and unstable mindset, learning Nen would still take time.
Karin, however, was already close.
She might start within a year.
As for Madam Pai-
She had already mastered Nen and was learning En.
Even Emiya admired that.
She really was Madam Pai.
"I brought something for you," Emiya said, taking out three phones.
One for Madam Pai.
One for Erina Nakiri.
One for Hisako Arato.
Mao and Karin didn't receive any.
"What is this?" Madam Pai asked.
"A phone?" Erina tilted her head. "What's it for?"
It looked nice.
But it wasn't useful in this world.
"This was made by a friend of mine," Emiya explained.
"It can make calls across worlds."
"With it, you can call me anytime."
"And you can call your mother."
Erina's eyes nearly popped out.
"Seriously?"
"I tested it. It works."
Emiya exchanged numbers with Erina, then patiently taught Madam Pai how to use the phone.
She learned quickly.
As for the other functions, Erina would handle them sooner or later.
Emiya then took out more phones.
He exchanged numbers again.
These were meant for the Hestia Familia.
That night, Emiya stayed at Kikukaro.
The next morning, after eating the breakfast Erina had carefully prepared, he left.
He entered the DanMachi world.
At the Hestia Familia's base, he handed out the phones.
When Hestia heard they could communicate across worlds, she froze.
"How did you do this?"
"I don't know," Emiya replied honestly.
"A friend made them. I don't understand the principles either. They work. That's enough."
Hestia nodded, satisfied.
She checked the phone.
It already had Emiya's number.
And Erina's.
Hisako's.
Madam Pai's.
She immediately dialed Madam Pai.
Their agreement was approaching.
She wanted an answer.
"Hello?"
Madam Pai's voice came through after a few rings.
"It's me, Hestia," Hestia said, surprised it really worked.
"I wanted to ask about our agreement. Have you decided?"
"Oh, Goddess Hestia," Madam Pai replied respectfully.
"I've thought it over. I'm willing to join your familia."
"That's great!" Hestia jumped up.
"I'll come find you right away!"
She hung up and immediately asked Emiya to take her to Kikukaro.
Emiya complied.
After sending her off, he returned to the DanMachi world.
He left the Hestia Familia and went to the Hephaestus Familia.
When Hephaestus received the phone, she gasped.
"A phone that works across worlds..."
She hadn't even finished designing a fantasy phone yet.
And this already existed.
The gap stung.
But it also ignited her competitive spirit.
She decided not only to build her own fantasy phone-
But to analyze this one.
And surpass it.
When Emiya heard her plans, he applauded.
Though in his opinion-
This wasn't something she'd finish anytime soon.
After all, she was the Goddess of Fire and Forging.
Not the Goddess of Machinery.
