Chapter 189 - Chapter 38: Instruction

In Aqua's mind, Kazuma Satou was nothing more than a shut-in NEET-useless beyond saving.

Relying on him to defeat the Demon King was pure fantasy.

In the original timeline, she'd had no choice. She'd been dragged down by Kazuma and forced to cling to him no matter how unreliable he was. But now things were different. There was another option.

And no matter how she looked at it, Emiya was far more reliable than Kazuma.

Naturally, Aqua didn't want Emiya to leave.

Seeing her teary-eyed stare, Emiya sighed helplessly.

"Alright, Aqua. I'll come back and help you defeat the Demon King after I get stronger in other worlds, okay?"

"Really?" Her tears vanished instantly, replaced by sparkling eyes.

Kazuma immediately felt displeased.

"Hey, hey! Aqua, aren't you underestimating me a bit too much? If I get serious, dealing with the Demon King would be easy."

He wasn't actually facing the Demon King right now, so bragging cost nothing.

Unfortunately for him, Aqua didn't believe a single word.

"What are you showing off for, you useless shut-in?" she scoffed. "You'd probably wet your pants the moment you saw the Demon King."

That sentence struck Kazuma right where it hurt most.

After all, wetting his pants had been a key detail of his death.

"Aquaaaaaa!!"

Kazuma lunged forward and grabbed Aqua's cheeks, pulling them hard. Aqua retaliated immediately, grabbing his face and yanking back just as fiercely.

Emiya didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He stepped in and forcibly separated the two.

"You two, that's enough."

He pulled Kazuma aside and whispered, "You're a grown man. Why are you arguing with a goddess who has below-average intelligence?"

Kazuma froze.

Right... Aqua's intelligence stat was abysmal.

If he kept arguing with her, wouldn't that make him look like the idiot?

"I understand, Emiya-san," Kazuma said solemnly. "I'll let Aqua have her way from now on."

Emiya patted his shoulder in satisfaction, then turned and pulled Aqua aside.

"You're a goddess, you know," he said quietly.

"You already know Kazuma's useless, yet you still argue with him. That lowers your dignity as a goddess, Aqua."

Aqua immediately puffed out her chest, clearly flattered.

"You're right! I'll be more magnanimous in the future. I won't stoop to his level anymore!"

Emiya nodded, giving her a thumbs-up.

"As expected of Aqua."

She really was easy to handle.

Aqua suddenly grabbed Emiya's hand.

"Then you can't lie to me. You'll come back and help me defeat the Demon King once you're stronger."

Emiya extended his pinky.

"Don't worry. My word is my bond. If you don't believe me, let's pinky swear."

Aqua immediately hooked her pinky around his.

"Liars have to swallow a thousand needles!"

"I'm not lying."

And he truly wasn't. If he ever reached a level where defeating the Demon King was easy, Emiya wouldn't mind returning and storming the Demon King's castle himself.

Only after repeated assurances did Aqua finally calm down.

Once Aqua, Kazuma, and Megumin were settled, Emiya walked over to Darkness.

She was holding a phone, frowning at it.

"How do I use this thing?"

"I'll teach you."

Emiya patiently explained each function.

Darkness listened seriously.

"If I'm in danger... can I really call you?"

"Of course," Emiya said with a smile.

"You can call me even when you're not in danger."

"Whether it's trouble or anything else, I'll help you."

"Things that seem impossible to you are often very easy for me."

"So don't hesitate. Call me, and I'll come back."

Darkness nodded solemnly. "I will."

"Oh, and there's something else I want to teach you."

"What is it?"

"A supernatural power from another world-Haki."

"Haki?" Kazuma, who'd been pretending not to listen, instantly ran over. "The Haki you're talking about... is it the Haki I know?"

"That's right."

Emiya raised his arm. Pitch-black Armament Haki instantly covered it.

Kazuma's worldview shattered.

"It's really Haki! That's impossible!"

"Nothing is impossible."

"Have you really been to the One Piece world?"

Kazuma knew Emiya could create objects from imagination, but Haki wasn't an object-it was a cultivated power.

"That world really exists?"

"Yes."

"I want to go! I want to go!" Kazuma suddenly got excited.

"I'll take you," Emiya said calmly, "but not now. After you defeat the Demon King."

"With your current strength, you'd be killed instantly there."

Kazuma: ...

He knew Emiya was right, but it still hurt.

"Then teach me Haki too!" he insisted.

Emiya shook his head. "Your physical foundation is too weak. You can't learn Haki."

"But I can teach you something else."

"What?"

"Nen."

"...Nen?" Kazuma stared. "Don't tell me you've been to the Hunter x Hunter world too."

Emiya smiled and nodded.

Kazuma felt pure envy.

"That's insane. Have you been to Naruto and Bleach too?"

"Not yet," Emiya said, shaking his head.

"My travels are random. I can't choose the destination."

"But if I travel enough times, I'll get there eventually."

Kazuma fell silent.

In the end, Emiya taught Darkness how to cultivate Haki, while teaching Kazuma and Megumin the basics of Nen.

Aqua, of course, looked down on both.

She was a goddess-why would she care about mortal powers?

As for why Emiya taught Darkness Haki instead of Nen, the reason was simple.

Haki suited her perfectly.

With Darkness's absurd physical endurance, cultivating Haki would be effortless-possibly even twice as effective.

After all, anyone who could withstand Explosion Magic head-on was no ordinary human.

Emiya was confident that once Darkness mastered Haki, their future adventures would become much easier.

As for Nen, Darkness could learn it later.

That night, Emiya stayed at the mansion and enjoyed a lavish dinner with everyone.

The next day, he left and went to Wiz's magic item shop.

"Hey, Wiz."

"Oh, Emiya? It's been a while," Wiz said in surprise.

"How's business?"

At the mention of business, Wiz's face immediately fell.

"...That bad, huh?"

"No, that's not it," Wiz said awkwardly.

"Ever since the All-purpose Elixirs and lighters you left started selling, people keep coming in asking if we have more."

"But they don't ask about anything else..."

Emiya scratched his head. Wiz's shop being full of useless items was... partly his fault.

"I came to restock today."

He placed a large batch of All-purpose Elixirs and lighters on the counter, along with umbrellas, nail clippers, and hand sanitizer.

Wiz finally smiled.

With these, her shop might finally see some life.

Even if the other items didn't sell-well, with enough customers, someone stupid enough would eventually buy them.

"Thank you so much, Emiya," Wiz said gratefully.

"You're welcome. We're friends."

Emiya handed her a phone. "This lets you contact me anytime."

He personally taught her how to use it.

"If you run out of stock, call me."

"I will."

In return, Wiz offered to teach Emiya a skill.

He didn't refuse.

Having more options was always better.

Using the skill points he'd painstakingly accumulated, Emiya learned a new ability:

Invisible Armor.

A high-level defensive spell that formed an unseen layer of protection, capable of blocking both physical and magical attacks.

Most mid-tier attacks couldn't even scratch it.

A highly practical skill-and one Emiya was more than satisfied with.
