Charmander used Dragon Tail on the ground, which lifted the soil to block the Thundershock.
"Now use Flamethrower!"
"Pikachu! Dodge!"
Flamethrower still hit Pikachu.
Pikachu simply wasn't fast enough.
"Pika!"
"Follow up with Dragon Tail!"
"Char!"
And Pikachu was defeated.
"Good job Charmander!"
"You did well Pikachu."
"Defeating his baby pre-evolution isn't anything great."
"Pre-evolution?"
"You don't even know that despite having Pikachu? Well, what did I expect from our town's idiot."
"Urrgh!"
Ash took out his Pokedex and searched about Pichu.
Gary wasn't just trash-talking for no reason. This will give his Charmander to recover her stamina from using 3 moves earlier.
It may be a little thing, but these little things add up.
After learning about Pichu, Ash took out his second Pokemon.
"Pidgeotto! I choose you!"
"Use Flamethrower!"
As soon as Pidgeotto came out of his Pokeball, he was hit by a Flamethrower!
Pidgeotto got knocked out. In just one move!
"Pidgeotto is unable to battle! The winner is Charmander!"
"Char! Char!"
"Good job Charmander! Return."
Seeing Charmander dancing, Gary wondered if Dragon Dance can be learnt by, well, dancing?
It's something worth testing.
"Anyway, let's meet at the league, if you qualify that is."
"I will, just you wait!"
Smirking, Gary left. He knows how Ash won most of his badges in Kanto's Indigo League. He has plot armour, he will enter the league. Though his plot armour ends there.
Anyway, he started running.
His destination? Mt Moon.
There are many things he wants to achieve there.
First, get a Moon Stone. It might be useful someday.
Second, ask a Clefairy to teach his Charmander attract. Even if they don't know, perhaps learning it in presence of Moon Stone will help.
Third, climb the mountain along with all his Pokemons for training.
And lastly, have Gyarados jump from the mountain to learn how to fly.
Gyarados is a flying type. He already levitates. And he had seen a flying Gyarados on youtube from a Pokemon game.
If Ash's Pikachu can defeat Ground types with Thunderbolt, his Gyarados can fly.
As for catching Clefairy?
Nah.
He wants to catch a Jigglypuff. And that one in the anime if possible.
And if not that, the giant Pokepolis Jigglypuff.
Clefairy kind of looks ugly.
