Kemran's POV
Kamran: GET BACK HERE IMMEDIATELY AND DON'T DO ANY MORE STUPIDITY ON THE WAY.
Kemran: At your command, Father.
I hear the beep that means my father hung up. What a great way to start my day, yeah. I sit down and glance at Evera, still sleeping.
What a crazy night, huh? I get up and head to the bathroom for a shower. I can't believe it. I was sent here for a mission, and not only did I fail it—I also ended up f***ing with the enemy. What kind of courage is that? I went from being a prince who spilled blood to a clown prince out of some fairytale. Disgusting. They've changed me this much? I slap myself. Come on, don't fall into the "good guys" corner. You need to become the heartless bastard you once were, Kemran. Heartless, you hear me.
When I step out of the bathroom, Evera is already awake and dressed, I notice.
Evera: I'm going to my apartment. Your father just called me and he was furious.
Kemran: Let me guess, he told you to hurry home.
Evera: Yes, sorry, I have to go.
Kemran: Go, and pack quickly. I'll wait for you at the airport.
Evera: You're coming too…?
Kemran: Back home!? My father ordered me to return, so go and hurry up.
Evera: Alright.
She rushes out of my apartment. I start packing my things into a suitcase. Tonight, I'm going to get a sermon at the dinner table, I already know exactly what my father will say. I made a mistake aligning myself with our enemies—especially by sleeping with them. The whole world probably already knows about our love triangle—or I should say, our former triangle. Everyone's also talking about Naynah's so-called pregnancy, when she's not even pregnant. Just rumors. But no one will believe us anyway. So Father will have to find another way to clear our family's name. After all, he owns several restaurants, including HAYVER, the 5-star restaurant.
That's the first restaurant of the TALOR family. Outside of the supernatural world, we own a massive fortune. And now, our family's reputation risks being stained because of these rumors.
I finish packing and head for the door. As I leave the apartment, I run right into James, the landlord.
James: Mr. TALOR, your father called to inform me you'd be leaving.
Tch, this man always plans everything ahead. I hand him the keys.
Kemran: Goodbye then.
I don't pay him any more attention and walk past, stepping into the elevator. Downstairs, some girls throw me winks as if that would catch my attention. I step outside the building and spot a taxi. The driver gets out and walks up to me.
Driver: Mr. TALOR asked me to come pick you up.
Without a word, I open the car door and get in. The driver rushes to load my suitcase in the trunk, then gets behind the wheel and drives me to the airport.
Once there, I see Evera already waiting. I step out as the driver takes my suitcase from the trunk. Without even thanking him, I head straight to her.
Kemran: I see you're already here.
Evera: I didn't want to anger the lord even more.
We enter the airport. Tell me if I'm crazy, but I think I saw Naynah and that guy—you remember him—though only from the back. Whatever. As we walk, I overhear people talking.
Woman 1: Oh, they look so good together.
Woman 2: It's true.
Man 1: Such a beautiful couple.
I catch Evera smiling like the fool she is.
Man 2: Wait, isn't that Kemran TALOR?
Woman 2: Don't be stupid. Why would he be in an airport? He's the son of a billionaire.
Man 1: But it really is him.
Woman 1: That's the one who dated two girls at the same time. The daughter of the great and powerful billionaire, Naylinah DELMAL.
Man 2: Yes, and wasn't he also with the daughter of the King of HARMONY?
Woman 2: How dare he show his face like this? After such a shameless act? He dumped those girls—one of them even pregnant—just to be with her.
Woman 1: And to think I called him handsome… Young men these days are all the same.
I've heard enough. I grab Evera's hand, which was trembling, and we head straight to the private jet.
So that's what they really think of me. Fine then, I don't care. I'm heartless and fearless.
We sit in the jet as the flight attendant walks up to us.
Attendant: Good afternoon, sir and miss. I'll be your attendant for this flight. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.
I nod and gesture for her to leave.
Minutes later, the plane takes off. After what feels like hours, we land in New York. A car is already waiting for us outside the airport. We drive toward NEVERKILLS, and after a few hours, finally arrive.
We stand before the fortress, and step inside. The moment I set foot in the living room, a massive slap lands on my face.
Kamla: Kamran!
Kamran: So you're finally here, you little bastard!!
Damn, I'm screwed. I hold my nose, bleeding from the blow. Nice welcome.
Kamla: You shouldn't have slapped him like that!
Kemran: Did I miss something here?
Kamran: Do you see his insolence?! He's grown weak from spending too much time with our enemies! Tell me, what were you thinking, starting a story with them, Kemran?!
Kemran: For once… I simply followed my heart.
Kamran: And in doing so, you ruined our reputation! Your carelessness has brought shame on us. And you, Evera—I gave you the mission of keeping an eye on him, and what did you do?!
I see Evera lower her head.
Kemran: Don't yell at Evera, Father!!
Kamran: So she's your new conquest, is that it?!
He grabs me by the collar and punches me in the face.
Kamla: Kamran, stop!
I lift a hand toward my mother to tell her not to intervene. If Father wants to unleash his anger, he can take it out on me—better me than anyone else. This homecoming… is truly deadly.
