Chapter 38 - A reckless presuit of happiness.

"So tell me, isn't it better to pursue my happiness until I eventually die from any reason? I… I am scared of dying and don't want to die, but it doesn't mean I don't have enough guts to die for what I love." Isha's words were accompanied by a gentle touch to Sky's face. Sky met her gaze, silent.

"And I guess you don't love me, that's why you are resisting. But I will try whatever I have to make you fall in love. Just give me a chance, and even if I can't make you love me, at least I can pursue my happiness and be happy just by that," Isha declared, as Sky contemplated her words.

Yeah. We will eventually die, so it's not worth it to leave those whom I don't want to leave. What's the point of being a superhuman if I can't save them while I'm alive? Sky thought, looking at her before nodding.

"I understand. Okay, I will give you an option. Choose what you want; I made that monster choose, and you would do the same. And after that, we can do whatever you choose. So, the first option: cling to me, be loyal to me, and I can't guarantee your life, nor your family's, but I can guarantee I will try my best to protect you, though it's not a certainty. And the second option: leave me and return to your normal life where you don't have to worry about dying. So, choose," Sky explained. Isha remained silent for a few seconds.

"I choose to be with you," Isha said with a beautiful smile.

"Aren't you afraid of dying?" Sky asked.

"I am, but I'm more focused on the life we could have," Isha replied, releasing her embrace. "Then am I now…?"

"You are now what…?"

"Your wife… I mean…" Isha stammered, a blush coloring her cheeks.

"No… just that I wouldn't block your number," Sky stated. "But for that, you need to be loyal to me. If your loyalty towards me is good enough, then you have a chance to be my wife. Until then, we can have this little affair you want." Sky explained, feeling caught in a dilemma by his own actions.

"No… but I want to live with you…?" Isha pleaded.

"I don't have a house…" Sky replied.

"What? You live on the street?" Isha asked, surprised.

"Nah… I just don't have my own home. I live in a rented house where girls aren't allowed. So yeah. By the way, I will be leaving for another place sometime soon, so… bye bye…" Sky said calmly.

"What? That's not… it. What am I going to do? What's the point of choosing you?" she asked, her voice tinged with desperation.

"Well, I can use you anytime I want, that's all. Plus, you can contact me without worries," Sky said.

"No… I don't want that."

"Then…?"

"Take me wherever you are going… other city, other country, or somewhere else, I don't care. I want to go with you," Isha said with genuine frustration.

"That. Then what about your parents? What if they file a complaint about you missing? Plus, what are you going to do anyway? I would come here time to time to meet you, so don't worry," Sky tried to reason.

"No… that's not why I made such a decision. I know I can't have a long life since choosing you, but if I can't live with you, then what's the point?"

"Hmm… true. So, choose the second one."

"No…" She shook her head stubbornly.

"I want to live with you, do whatever, I don't care. I want to live with you…" she stubbornly repeated like a child.

"Hah…" Sky looked at her, unsure what to do. So he asked, "Tell me one thing, why should I let you live with me? Of course, I'm talking about benefits, since you know I have other reasons to be happy; you are just a burden." Sky's direct words struck Isha like lightning. The reality hit her; she was being stubborn, but she had nothing to offer him in return for the things she wanted from him.

"That, I… I can give you me, myself. My love, the happiness of a wife, and if you want, the happiness of being a father as well," Isha said shyly. Sky directly replied, "I don't need those things. I am already quite burdened; I don't want any more." Sky's bluntness made Isha lose her footing; she couldn't comprehend what to do.

"Listen to me, girl. I am being generous and kind to you to let you do whatever you want till now. I am not your lover to whom you can demand anything, so I would give you the best option to just continue your normal life like before. It would be best," Sky said calmly. Isha started to panic; she hadn't expected him to feel nothing for her. She had expected him to desire her body, like any man would, and she would eventually make him fall in love, but this was completely beyond her expectations.

"Wait—wait… so you don't want to be intimate with me? Don't you like my body? Am I not beautiful enough?" she asked in desperation. Sky calmly replied, "No, I don't want to be intimate, but you and your body are, of course, beautiful and seductive. But I have someone else; that's why I can't do anything." Isha felt her mind go blank; she had nothing to say.

"You think I'm beautiful?" she asked. Sky nodded. "Then why don't you give me a chance?"

"Well, because I have someone else. Anyway, this is getting too long; I need to go."

"Wait, don't leave… I—I can offer…" She tried to say something, but her words caught in her throat. Sky calmly interjected, "You can't think properly; you're under too much pressure. I am going outside for a few days before returning. Until then, think clearly about what you have to offer me."

"Wait—what? Where are you going? And when will you return?" she asked.

"I am telling you this, but since you have chosen to be loyal to me, don't tell anyone else about it; it would be troublesome for both of us," Sky said, before telling her the place he was going and when he would return, then he left.
