Chapter 84 - Outdated

Bandeer: Show your cards then!

Greg - Joker & 3

Todor - Joker & 4

All three of them stood still, Bandeer eyes widened.

Bandeer (Wait... did I miscalculate?)

Todor: Seems like my hand is higher.

Greg: Hold on there, it's Bandeer's choice to decide who wins!

Bandeer (Mine? Right, it is, but the rule is already set... No, wait... This is what Greg played for? Did he know Todor will have a higher hand than him?)

Todor: Is something wrong? Come on already.

Bandeer (How did Greg know? I even had false information! No, it doesn't matter! The rules... Since there are secret rules... I can add one any time as long as it does not disrupt earlier rounds logic... Is this what you... Played for, Greg?)

Bandeer: The winner of this bet is...

Joker & 3?

Joker & 4?

The winner of this bet is... GREG!!

Round 12 results:

Todor - Joker & 4 [LOST]

Greg - Joker & 3 [WON]

In pot - 5:00

Lasted: 1:11

Round 13 starts:

Starting pot: 50 seconds

Game Time: 8:55

Time until end: 12:05

Greg: ... Todor ... How does it feel? I'm currently leading by 6 entire minutes! I'm going to win!

Todor: Right now you are. That does not mean you will win.

Greg: For you to win... You would need to play perfectly from now on... maybe even that would not make you win!

Bandeer: Hey! I'm here as well! I have no idea what happened! Could any of you explain?

Todor: I would leave it to Greg.

Greg: Of course you do. So I saw Todor swing his cards a little at the end of round 10 and 11. I know if Todor does something, even if it feels unimportant, is a part of his genius plan, so I thought about what it could be. He simply stacked the 2 cards so you saw which one was on the top, but gave it to you upside down after he swung the card.

Bandeer: Huh? So he... Wait, isn't this a... magic trick?

Greg: It is. Magicians love to use this trick, they show you a card, they do a fast swing in the air with the card, and seemingly the card becomes a different one. The trick is that they have that different card behind that card they are showing you already, when they swing it, they are capable of sliding the cards so they end up in the other cards position, making the back card the front one. This can be done so quickly that the naked eye simply cannot catch up on it happening.

Bandeer: Then you both knew how I dealt the cards!?

Greg: Todor has figured it out, I only realised it must be deductible after Todor did that trick. I didn't know what it was though, only that Todor probably knows what cards he or us will get after 'X' rounds.

Todor: Your fault you make it deductible.

Bandeer: Dude I got to somehow know where specific cards are in the deck! If not, how would I make sure the loser gets a better hand than before?!

Todor: If you already know where the cards are, then it's the same as looking at them when dealing with them, no? You did it so you are not obviously helping Greg.

Greg [While Todor and Bandeer talk] (Wait... This is weird. With this, he basically revealed that he knows Bandeer knows where the cards are in the deck, and that with the fact that Bandeer wants me to win and that I was already winning by a whole minute... Todor wants to... Remove Bandeers power to make better hands for me overall than Todor?! Does that mean... TODOR INTENTIONALLY TOOK THE 5 MINUTE LOSS?! HE DIDN'T EVEN PLAN TO WIN THE BET!?)

Todor: What you were thinking is that it's only cheating if you are caught? Well, I have caught you.

Bandeer: So what now... I somehow have to follow the cards because of the losing secret rule...

Todor: Simply erase that rule.

Greg (Hah- That's what he planned? Erasing a rule from the game? Dammit Todor you are not even the referee!)

Bandeer: Remove... the rule?

Todor: The job of a referee is to make games fair and square. So I think it's time.

Bandeer: What?

The door of the bathroom opens, an official referee walks in.

Greg: What the hell?

Bandeer: WHAT THE FUCK!?

Todor: I asked him to come in when I said "So I think it's time".

Bandeer: W-What?

Todor: I like to be ready for anything. I thought if you want me to play a game, you are not an official referee, so you might not be neutral about who you want to win, and the one you want to win might not be me. So now he will make sure that you, Bandeer, will stay neutral.

Bandeer: Wait! So he is a referee to supervise a referee? Also why did he agree to this?

Todor: Oh, because he is a referee, it's his job... Also... The CEO isn't neutral either.

Bandeer: Alright... So... I delete the rule that the loser has to get a better hand than earlier.

Todor: By the way, that rule was also not really turned out to be true anyway every time.

Bandeer: What do you mean?

Todor: I mean that you did not originally mean the Joker to have anything special about it, right? Since there was a time when either I or Greg lost with a Joker in hand already, yet the Joker stayed there in the next round, but the other card got higher, which means it weakened the hand.

Greg: Yeah. Since a hand with a Joker can only be beaten if the other has a Joker as well, but with that new Joker secret rule, the strongest hand is a Joker with a '1'.

Todor: So I know the actual winner by the rules you had back then in your should have been me.

Bandeer: Kukuku... It's too late now, the round already ended, I cannot redo it! And the referee only got here after so he cannot do anything about it either.

Todor: I don't want to, just let's keep playing

Greg (So we have the same chances now? But I'm 6 minutes in the lead, with much less time remaining than when we started. There is no way I could lose!)
