Manu descended slowly, the air thick with burnt silver glow His wings folded inward as he landed. Mattias hit the ground harder than expected with dust curling around his boots.
"at least give a warning next time?" Mattias muttered, brushing off the grit.
Manu didn't respond right away. He just stood there, staring at the landscape. The ground pulsed faintly dense PVE. Threads of color ran beneath the surface like veins of light.
"We're in about the Fifth Layer now," Manu finally said, his tone calm again. Too calm. "You could call this... a forsaken realm Here the horrors are 10× stronger than those above."
Mattias crossed his arms. "Yeah like am apparently supposed to understand what that means."
Manu's head turned sharply, eyes glinting with faint amusement. "Your really unimpressive you know that and here I thought you were worth making my apostle to bad for being from the Alistain World."
Mattias blinked. "You keep saying that like it's supposed to mean something."
Manu sighed, stretching his neck until the vertebrae cracked like snapping twigs. "The Alistain World is the standard existence,it doesn't have anything just a normal place."
Mattias frowned. "Great I still understand nothing of that"
Manu smirked, that sharp, crooked kind of grin that never quite reached his eyes. "You joke, but you're not wrong. You however don't belong here. That's what caught my attention."
Mattias stepped closer: "why did you kill me then?"
For a second, Manu said nothing Then
"Because you fought back," he said simply. "And because I wanted to see if your just another horror and I also wanted your body but we can't all be winners."
Mattias confused:"You aren't even trying to lie and are just answering my questions"
"well not like I want your body anymore it's nasty now half breed" Manu said
Mattias:"Okay at least I don't have to worry about that now but why do you keep calling me half breed"
Manu grinning :"because you don't deserve my respect to call you by your name"
Mattias's sighinf:"Whatever at least I have one of my problems dealt with now"
Manu tilted his head, studying him like a specimen. "you do know the fifth layer is a hell even to horror stands right?."
Mattias choking on his words turned to look at the empty surroundings:"what do you mean it's pretty empty"
"Yea that just means something killed everything in this area," Manu replied lightly. "that means we are in danger"
He walked a few paces forward, crouching to touch the glowing soil. The faint light recoiled from his fingers. "yes we are definitely going to die this time If we don't get moving should I carry you princess halfbreed "
Mattias sighing and putting his face to his palm "at least you have a sense of humour when your not trying to kill me"
"but if this place is so dangerous where would we even go."
Mattias's glare lingered for a moment longer waiting for an answer
Manu just stared at the ground "beats me not like we have an option either way"
"Yea Yea but quite thing was that horse thing always behind us" he asked.
Manu didn't answer. Instead, he looked behind the upward, wings twitching slightly. "Say on a scale of 1 to 10 halfbreed how fast can you run"
Mattias just looked at the horror behind him and at Manu "You can fly right? Why ask if I can run"
Manu grinned again and looked at Mattias "sure I can fly but can you and also you didn't thing those answers were free now did you"
And with that, he began flapping his wings flying upwards before Mattias could response .
Mattias stood there, heart pounding, watching the faint trails of light vanish behind Manu as he flew up
The silence that followed wasn't deafening as the horse horror rushed towards Mattias
