Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: Watching Dog

"It took me five hours to buy you girls' clothing. I know you girls want to look good, but please think of our situation."

"But if we did get caught, at least we have to give a good first impression."

"That's what I'm trying to prevent, dumbass!!"

The young man knew that women love to dress themselves all pretty, but he didn't expect it to be detrimental to him. As he said, he spent almost 5 hours in the women's section of a clothing store. He was getting weird stares from everyone, but thankfully, he is as thick as his snake's porridge.

"Sigh… I assume you girls have some place you want to visit since you bought some nice clothes. I was suggesting buying some just for hygiene reasons."

"Well… I want to visit the Mejiro Family Mansion… or whatever the equivalent version of it is in this world."

"Have you… research about Mejiro, McQueen?"

"No… Why?"

"Considering that all umamusumes in this world are animals, I don't know how a family like the Mejiro Family would translate. It would be weird if the animals had a renowned family, right?"

Although… Sunday Silence does make a name for himself with his lineage. I guess animals do have renowned families.

"I guess so… I wonder how the Mejiro Family is in this world…"

"I want to visit a racing course!! I saw how fast these horses run!! I want to watch them race!! Can I?!?!"

"They don't hold one every single day, Teio. We have to be lucky to view one."

"Oooh… I guess I can just watch them on the internet…"

"What are your plans then, dear?"

"I'm going to spy on the company building that made the Umamusume game. The fact that they got every one of your racewear designs spot on is weird. If it truly was a coincidence, then there should be at least some umamusumes whose design deviates from our world."

"Do you need help?"

"Don't cause any trouble while I'm gone. Kill anyone who figures out your identity."

"A little bit extreme, dear. Say, do you not wonder what happened to this world version of yourself? I guess you're still human, but don't you think that he may have lived a different life?"

"..."

The young man stayed silent in front of Rudolph's question. Unlike the other 3, the young man knew his story. He knew his birth, his school life, his university life, his work life, and his death. What he wanted to know more than the story of his previous life is how his family is doing after his death. Are they still healthy? How did his death affect them? And so on.

"That's a secondary quest for me. My main one is to secure our way back home."

"I see…"

This is how an adult is, huh… When things get rough, they finally show their years of experience and put away their selfish desire to get things done.

"I'll be back tonight. Don't do anything rash while I'm gone."

"Yeah… See you later."

XxX-XxX

The young man silently sits in a Denny's, which is on the building directly neighboring the Cyberagent building. Out of all the things he expects himself to do as a trainer, sitting in a Denny's to spy on a gaming company isn't one of them.

The Denny's is positioned at the southern corner of the Cyberagent building, which is a pretty strategic position. There are several ways for someone to exit the buildings, and the Denny's is right beside the basement parking. He can only hope that whoever his target is, they're using a car as their primary form of transport. There are pedestrian doors on the other side of the building from him, but he can just move his POV using his [Truth Seeing Eyes] since it's still within 100 meters from his current position.

Everyone's stats menu is blurry. I suppose that is what happens when a skill that is meant to be used on people in one world is being used on people from another world.

With a warm meal in front of him, the young man casually uses his phone and his years of experience as a Watch Dogs to search for information. He located CCTV cameras using his skill before hacking them with his phone to see what they are seeing. He hops from one camera to another, identifying faces inside the massive building.

Office boy… A janitor… A junior programming staff… A senior animator… Fuck… There are so many people here, and my phone can only access one camera at a time. We might be stuck here for the next few years if this goes on.

"..."

The young man tilted the camera away in search of something. He hops and hops to search for the one thing that will speed his search, a spark that will cause a fire. He has no intention of causing a massive fire in the building, just enough to force everyone out of the building.

Bingo!

After hopping from camera to camera, he found one faulty wire near a fire sprinkler. If he can just get the wire hot enough, then the sprinkler might mistake it for actual fire and ring the alarm. The amount of electricity that runs through the wire wouldn't be enough to cause that much heat, but he can always reroute the electricity.

This is what happened when you automate everything.

*RIIIIING* *RIIIIING* *RIIIIING*

With almost no effort, the young man has forced everyone inside the buildings out. The crowdless pavement is slowly being filled to the brim with people escaping from what they assumed was a massive fire. The young man doesn't waste any time and moves both of his eyes' POVs using his [Truth Seeing Eyes]. He scans through them all, making sure he doesn't miss even one of them.

No… No… No… No… No… Found her…

The young man couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a stat screen UI similar to how it was on the people from the other world. All he needs now is to make contact with her, but that is easier said than done. He needs something to convince his target that he is also from that world because right now, there's nothing differentiating him from anyone else.

If a guy said that he came from your old homeworld with nothing as proof, would you believe him? No, of course no one would. He needs the one thing that will convince everyone, the umamusumes.
