Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 Visiting Azik

Chapter 46 Visiting Azik

Mr. Azik's home was located in the city, a single-family house with a lawn in front and a garden in the back. Its overall area was even larger than Old Neil's. Such a nice house, especially in Tingen, was probably beyond the reach of a university professor on his salary.

Old Neil's house is worth 900 pounds, so this house is probably worth 3,000 to 5,000 pounds.

Lu Ze looked at the house, thought to himself, and walked forward to pull the rope on the side of the gate.

"Ding! Ding!"

The doorbell rang.

Footsteps were heard a little later, and soon the door was opened. Mr. Azik, dressed in home clothes, appeared behind the door.

"welcome."

He smiled faintly, "I've been waiting for you for a long time, please come in."

Before coming to Mr. Azik's house, Luze had already contacted Klein, got the address of Azik's house, and arranged a meeting time. This was to prevent the embarrassing situation of him arriving but Azik was not there.

"good afternoon."

Lu Ze nodded to him, "Mr. Azik, I'm sorry to bother you."

Azik took the initiative to move aside, welcomed him into the room, closed the door, and led him to the living room on the first floor.

"Please take a seat. Would you like something to drink, coffee or tea?"

Azik asked.

Sitting on the soft, high-end sofa, Lu Ze thought for a moment and said, "Black tea will be fine."

After he finished speaking, he suddenly became curious. Azik's home was so nice, yet he didn't seem to have any servants to serve him. This was quite different from the lives of the middle and upper classes in Loen today. But in that case, who would make the tea? Could it be that he preferred to do it himself?

"Bang!"

Mr. Azik, with his bronze complexion and soft features, stretched out his hand and snapped his fingers.

Behind the living room, in the deserted kitchen, the sound of cups clashing suddenly rang out. A moment later, a tray flew in. On it, teacups and a teapot were placed steadily.

Lu Ze's eyes narrowed. While ordinary people could only see the floating tray, he saw a phantom figure holding it—a low-level undead creature, a wraith, as documented in the literature. He had never seen an ordinary wraith possess such abilities. Not only could it interfere with physical reality, but it was also intelligent enough to brew tea!

"Clang."

The tray was placed on the coffee table, the porcelain colliding with the tray, making a crisp sound. The invisible ghost bowed respectfully to Azik, then floated into the kitchen, never to be seen again.

"Try it, she's very good at making tea."

Azik smiled at the stunned Lu Ze.

".OK."

Lu Ze picked up the teacup. The tea was rosy and translucent. The thin porcelain cup had a translucent milky white color and intricate patterns, seemingly made of expensive bone china. With a cautious attitude, he brought the cup to his lips and tasted the tea.

"How about it?"

".To be honest, I don't quite understand this."

Between "pretending to be elegant" and "telling the truth," Lu Ze frankly chose the latter. "It just smells nice."

Mr. Azik couldn't help but laugh when he heard this.

"Haha, you're really honest. To be honest, I don't really understand black tea either."

Instead of drinking tea, he picked up a cigar from the coffee table and handed it to Lu Ze, "Would you like one?"

"Thank you, I can't."

Lu Ze shook his head and refused. In his previous life, he didn't like cigarettes and alcohol. In this world, because of the danger of losing control, he was even more reluctant to touch these things. And most importantly, his sister Cecilia had always disliked the smell of cigarettes since she was a child. She would cough at the smell.

Seeing that Lu Ze didn't take it, Azik turned around and lit one for himself. The strong smell of cigar smoke began to spread in the living room.

When you go back later, let some fresh air get in your way so that the smoke won't linger on your clothes.

Lu Ze said in his heart.

He drank a few more sips of black tea, and finally couldn't help but take the initiative to speak:

"Mr. Azik, you asked me to help you. What exactly do you need me to do?"

Azik took a deep drag on his cigar, and in the blue-gray smoke he exhaled, he said lightly, "I want you to help me regain my memories of the past."

"Memories of the past?"

Lu Ze asked curiously.

So Azik began to explain his experience to Luze. It turned out that Mr. Azik's memory was incomplete. He only remembered the time after he entered university. He had no recollection of his life before that. He didn't know where he came from or who his parents were.

During this time, he gradually discovered that he possessed unique abilities and would occasionally recall fragments of the past. Chasing the past became his obsession, driving him forward.

"Mr. Azik, are you saying that the aura I carry almost reminded you of something, so you hope I can help you sense that aura again?" Lu Ze understood Azik's intention. "But, I don't even know what aura you're talking about, let alone how to release it."

Although he said so, Lu Ze had some guesses in his mind that the aura that made Azik feel a sense of déjà vu was most likely the influence of the real creator on himself.

But who was this person in his past that he could be associated with such a dangerous evil deity and yet remain unaffected and corrupted?

"Don't worry, I naturally have a way. I just need your cooperation," Azik said. "I will summon a special undead creature and use it to draw out the hidden aura within you. It might be a little scary, though, so I hope you don't mind. Of course, as I said, no matter what the outcome, I will give you the reward you deserve."

Lu Ze came here for the reward, so he naturally wouldn't refuse. He nodded and said, "Okay, please start quickly."

If it ended early, he could go to the shooting range and practice with his revolver.

Seeing this, Azik stopped talking and took out a piece of white bone flute from his pocket. He scratched his index finger with his thumbnail, letting a drop of blood fall onto the flute. The bright red blood quickly seeped into the flute.

"Woo woo—"

Although no one was blowing it, the bone flute made a sound on its own. Along with this hollow low sound, the surrounding environment became hazy, and large blocks of bright colors piled up in layers, as if the most crazy painter had painted a chaotic world with bold oil paints.

Lu Ze saw a bronze gate appear behind Azik—just like the one he had seen in his dream. The gate's surface was rusted and damaged, but upon closer inspection, he realized it wasn't rust, but rather a series of distorted faces.

"Squeak—"

The door slowly opened, and dark vines emerged from it, encircling Azik and knotting in front of him to form a sphere.

A crack appeared in the center of the sphere, and from the crack, a transparent monster emerged. It looked like a combination of an octopus and a jellyfish. It stretched out its sticky tentacles and stretched them in front of Lu Ze.

Lu Ze looked at the monster and felt somewhat alert.

Before coming here, he had taken some precautions and mailed a letter to himself, the Blackthorn Security Company. If he could get out today, he would naturally retrieve the letter. If not, the letter would reach other people in the company, and they would immediately notice Azik.

But he seemed to have overthought it. The tentacle just rested stickily on his forehead and did not cause any harm to him.

Before long, vague hallucinations began to appear before his eyes.

In the illusion, there are flying feathered serpents and many more strange creatures.

I was promoted successfully and got the second round of recommendations, great!
