Chapter 47 Azik's Advice
As Azik drew out the aura of the true Creator from Luze's body, strange hallucinations gradually engulfed him.
He had seen feathered serpents soaring and bronze gates opening before him. As the illusion deepened, more scenes he had never seen before began to appear.
Countless strange creatures, rotting corpses, wronged souls, and skeletons. The mausoleum is built downwards, like a hollowed-out inverted pyramid. The ancient people of the southern continent, with phosphorus burning on their bodies, pray to the tomb in extreme pain.
At that moment, the hallucination suddenly expanded, and he beheld a battlefield straight out of myth. Under a leaden sky, dragons soared, giant beasts roared, and ordinary humans, like tiny ants, battled each other on a land ablaze with hellish flames. Among them, a few powerful individuals, though tiny, could easily slay mountain-sized giants with a single wave of their hands!
At the end of the battlefield, a towering black throne stood. Atop it, a majestic, mountain-like black emperor sat, overlooking everything below. He seemed to sense Lu Ze's gaze, and his eyes shifted, gazing towards him with a heavy, imposing gaze.
"Crash—"
The sound of the sea tide sounded at the right moment, and the illusion before my eyes disappeared in an instant like mist blown away by the wind.
"Bang!"
The translucent tentacle on Lu Ze's forehead exploded, and the undead creature that looked like an octopus and a jellyfish let out a wail, dragging its broken body into the gate. The bronze gate then creaked closed and disappeared.
Lu Ze opened his eyes and found that everything around him had returned to normal, except for Azik, who was sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, his brows furrowed, and beads of sweat oozing from his forehead, as if he was trapped in a deep and long nightmare.
Should I wake him up?
While Lu Ze was struggling, Azik had already slowly opened his eyes, and his usually calm and experienced eyes had a bit of emptiness in them.
"No, it's not enough."
He muttered to himself, rubbing his brows as if trying to force out the memories buried deep within. After about half a minute, Azik slowly recovered. He smiled bitterly and looked up at Lu Ze, "Sorry to have kept you waiting."
"It's okay, Mr. Azik, are you okay? I wonder if I was able to help you regain your memory."
Lu Ze said.
Azik shook his head.
"I recalled many scenes from the past, but I still don't understand." He noticed Lu Ze's hesitant look and smiled. "But to have such an effect is beyond my imagination. I will pay the compensation as agreed."
"So, what do you need? Or do you have any questions I can help you with?"
Just ask me what I'm missing?
Awesome! As expected of a High-Sequence Expert, his words are so majestic!
Lu Ze took a breath and exclaimed in admiration.
But then again, what am I missing now?
Lu Ze lowered his head and thought.
Instead of asking what you lack, it is better to ask what you need to solve.
From the time he traveled through time until now, he had been plagued by numerous problems. Apart from those that had already been resolved and were currently pressing, they could be roughly categorized into short-term and long-term ones.
There are two things that have been bothering him recently. One is that the human trafficking case has not been solved, and the hidden enemies may be detrimental to him. The other is what Azik once told him: he and Klein both have a strange feeling of incompatibility in their fates, which seems to be related to a house with a red chimney.
There were two long-term problems. The first was his inability to advance. The damned True Creator had too much influence on low-sequence beings. Becoming a Listener would turn him into a madman who believed in him fanatically. The second was Lanevus. He had wronged him terribly and must have hated him immensely. He would remain a hidden danger until he was eliminated.
Of these, the Lanevus and human trafficking cases could be left aside for now. Both were already on the Nighthawks' investigation list, and the Goddess Church would naturally dispatch personnel to handle them, leaving Luze, an ordinary Nighthawk, no need to worry about them.
As for the remaining two matters, they were related to his own wealth. Klein was already investigating the red chimney. He had a better relationship with Azik, so it would be more convenient for him to ask Azik.
After analyzing this, the answer is simple—ask Azik how to advance to Sequence 8 and avoid the influence of the true Creator.
After thinking through his problem, Luze looked at Azik, who was waiting calmly.
"Mr. Azik, do you know anything about my sequence?"
"A secret prayer? I guess I know."
"The lower levels of my path are easily influenced by those at the top of the sequence. After reaching Sequence 8," Luze explained his situation. After Azik digested it, he continued, "Excuse me, Mr. Azik, do you have any way to prevent me from being controlled by the True Creator's mind?"
Azik held the cigar in his hand, thought silently for a while, and then nodded slowly.
"There is one, but it's very risky."
Is it true?
Lu Ze was delighted and asked quickly, "What is it?"
"To skip Sequence 8 and forcibly advance to Sequence 7, you need to consume two potions containing both Sequence 8 and Sequence 7."
".ah?"
Lu Ze was stunned.
The method proposed by Mr. Azik is unexpectedly radical.
"Is this possible?"
"Although it's dangerous, it's not impossible if there are high-sequence Beyonders assisting. However, my current condition isn't very good, so you'll need to wait for a while while I improve. Also, you don't have the corresponding potion formula or ingredients right now, right?"
"Yes."
Lu Ze nodded.
He only had this idea at the moment, but the potion formula for "Listener" was still unknown. Obtaining the formula to verify its authenticity and purchasing the ingredients would be even more difficult. From this perspective, even if he ignored the influence of the true Creator and directly ascended, it would not be so easy.
"By the way, Mr. Azik, I have another idea. Do you think it's possible?"
He told Azik about his theory - which was the so-called method of changing the person being listened to, from the real creator to the goddess of night.
To his surprise, Azik nodded slowly after listening.
"In theory, yes, but."
But, but again, so many good things in the world have been ruined by this word.
Azik said, "Only the true Creator will actively spread whispers, forcing his followers to listen. If you want to change the audience to the goddess, first you need the goddess to actively spread the gospel to your ears. This kind of special treatment from the gods is too luxurious. I'm afraid only the church's high-ranking officials or the goddess's followers have the opportunity."
Followers, then I am definitely not one, I am not even a believer.
After hearing this, Lu Ze smiled awkwardly. Indeed, why would a dignified True God cooperate with a Sequence 8 figure like you to digest the potion for no reason?
But in this case, the problem of my promotion is temporarily unsolved.
So what should he ask of Azik?
