Chapter 88 - The House Suddenly Became Lively

"I got it. I'll be ready ahead of time."

Facing Shizuka's reminder, Lin Feng smiled and nodded.

Just earlier, while they were doing homework together, Shizuka had told Lin Feng that she wanted to invite him over to her house tomorrow—to hang out, and also to make some small cakes together.

Lin Feng didn't have anything else planned anyway, so he readily agreed.

After all, since the start of the school term, although he'd passed by Shizuka's house many times, he'd never actually gone inside as a guest.

And Shizuka was a girl, after all. If she didn't take the initiative to invite someone over, probably only that thick-skinned guy Nobita would have the nerve to keep showing up uninvited, pestering her to play.

Once she heard Lin Feng's promise, Shizuka smiled brightly, waved goodbye, and left.

After that, the house was left with just Lin Feng, Chachamaru, and Fūko.

Compared to before, Lin Feng's home had suddenly become much livelier. After spending the whole afternoon together, even Chachamaru had gradually come to accept Fūko's presence.

Fūko, on the other hand, often played little pranks on Chachamaru—blowing gentle gusts at his fur, or trying to grab his tail.

But each time, Chachamaru would dodge nimbly with feline agility, never letting her catch him.

After watching the two of them fool around for a while, Lin Feng sighed helplessly and started preparing dinner.

Fortunately, he'd stocked up on ingredients before classes were suspended, so now he just needed to take things out of the fridge and start cooking.

"Meow~!"

Hearing the sound of chopping in the kitchen, Chachamaru came running from the living room, letting out a soft meow at Lin Feng. From the look in his big, round, sparkling eyes, he was clearly begging for food.

"Didn't Shizuka just feed you some canned cat food this afternoon? How are you hungry again already?"

"You really are a little glutton."

Unable to resist those cute, pleading eyes, Lin Feng sighed, cut off a small piece of fish, and placed it into Chachamaru's bowl.

"Shuu~! Shuu~!"

But the very next second, the piece of fish vanished—snatched right out of the air by the floating Fūko.

She dangled the fish teasingly in front of Chachamaru, waving it back and forth as if provoking him.

"Meow~!"

Naturally, Chachamaru was not pleased. He leapt up in an instant, trying to grab the meat back.

But Fūko was far quicker. She shot upward in a flash, soaring out of reach, and Chachamaru's pounce landed on empty air.

"Shuu~! Shuu~!"

Seeing that he'd missed, Fūko flew in triumphant circles, taunting him by swaying the stolen fish just beyond his reach.

And so, the two little troublemakers started chasing each other again—battling from the kitchen to the living room, and then from the living room up to the second floor.

Lin Feng could only sigh helplessly at the noise.

His home had suddenly become a lot livelier—maybe too lively.

He hadn't expected that once Fūko got her own body, she'd turn out to be so energetic and mischievous.

Still, perhaps this kind of playful chaos was their own special way of bonding.

Choosing not to get involved, Lin Feng decided it was best to fill his stomach first.

While he was finishing up dinner, the sound of rain began to patter softly outside the window again.

Luckily, Shizuka had left early—by now she should've reached home safely.

To be honest, the weather these days was really strange.

In the afternoon, the sky would always be clear and sunny, but by evening, it would start raining without fail—sometimes even storming.

He couldn't help but wonder if there'd be another typhoon tonight, like yesterday.

After glancing outside for a moment, Lin Feng shook his head and pulled his thoughts back.

No point worrying about it now.

After eating dinner, since it was raining and he couldn't go out, Lin Feng settled into his room, planning to go online and check how Kimetsu no Yaiba was doing lately.

The next batch of updates was just about to be released—the part where the protagonist, Tanjirō, begins his training under the cultivator Urokodaki Sakonji to become a Demon Slayer.

Readers everywhere were excited, eager to see how strong Tanjirō would become after enduring such grueling training, driven by his burning determination.

Lin Feng had already teased in a previous preview that only by successfully slicing a boulder with a sword could Tanjirō qualify for the Demon Slayer Corps selection test.

For a boy who once just sold charcoal to make a living, cutting through a giant rock was an almost impossible feat.

What kind of harsh training would it take for an ordinary person to gain that kind of power in such a short time?

With that question hanging in the air, fans were filled with anticipation for the upcoming chapters.

Reading the discussion threads on the official forums, Lin Feng couldn't help but smile.

He could almost see his younger self in those fans—the same restless excitement, that mix of frustration and thrill while waiting for each new chapter to drop.

But it was that very feeling of anticipation that made the updates so rewarding. The moment you finally got to read the continuation, the satisfaction that surged through you—that was something only readers themselves could truly understand.

As for Lin Feng, his task now was to keep pushing his progress.

His drawing speed was already impressive, but if he could become even faster, maybe he could increase his update schedule even more.

At that rate, not just two chapters a week—even three or four might be doable, if he could maintain that pace.

Outside, the rain continued to pour, and the wind began to hum softly.

Strangely enough, the sound of rain and wind made the warmth of being indoors feel even cozier. It was the perfect atmosphere for working—or studying—with full focus.

Lin Feng sat at his desk, sketching intently.

Chachamaru was curled up beside the desk lamp, his paws tucked neatly under him, eyes half-closed as he watched Lin Feng draw.

Meanwhile, Fūko perched lightly on Lin Feng's shoulder, her bright eyes full of curiosity.

Thanks to her ability to control the wind and hover freely, she could sit there without disturbing him at all.

In fact, having such a cute, lively little doll quietly keeping him company while he worked filled Lin Feng with a quiet happiness.

Maybe sensing how focused he was, Fūko stayed perfectly still despite her natural playfulness. Her curious eyes remained bright, but she didn't make a sound—just sat there quietly, like a gentle breeze resting on his shoulder.
