Chapter 185 - Chapter 185. Centur-Ion Deck Guide! One Card to Surpass Tranquil Synchro Acceleration!

Chapter 185. Centur-Ion Deck Guide! One Card to Surpass Tranquil Synchro Acceleration!

Across the various Duel Worlds, the Duelists were still dumbstruck as they watched the final short video come to an end.

They never expected it.

The key card that seized the win in the end turned out to be Red Dragon Archfiend from the Red archetype that had been sitting in the Graveyard the whole time.

What shocked them even more was this: from the very first setup—yes, from the moment Vision Resonator was repeatedly destroyed and sent to the Graveyard to trigger searches—it was as if they had already written out the partners' formula for victory.

After seeing that final curtain call, in the 5D's world, Jack Atlas couldn't calm down for a long time.

What he found hardest to accept was perhaps not the frantic, back-and-forth coordination with those Red archetype Spells/Traps, but the absolute pressure delivered by Red Dragon Archfiend in that last wave.

Red Dragon Archfiend, seizing victory.

Tamashii, the finishing blow.

Too soul-stirring.

It even gave him the illusion that the person in the short video was himself.

The moment that thought surfaced, Jack was startled by his own mind.

"Impossible! The King can only be me!"

"He merely got lucky and formed a slight bond with Red Dragon Archfiend!"

Jack quickly muttered, refuting the thought that had popped up.

The surrounding Duelists were already looking at one another in confusion.

VRAINS world.

For those from the Link era, the final outcome only gave them a small jolt of surprise.

After all, making Accesscode Talker at that moment— to them—was perfectly reasonable.

The more materials Accesscode has, the more times it can negate monster effects.

But what Yusaku Fujiki, Akira Zaizen, and the others didn't expect was this: that Accesscode, which should have been suppressive, ended up becoming the trigger for defeat.

That's a completely different story.

"What a pity—if they'd paid more attention to the Vision Resonator searches, maybe they wouldn't have considered making Accesscode?"

Off to the side, Skye Zaizen let out a heavy sigh.

In her view, if you pay more attention to your search targets during a Duel, the ending can change.

Main world.

While the various Duel Worlds were still chattering nonstop about the Red Dragon Archfiend short, Sei Yuki, having finished the video, immediately started looking for the next one.

The Duel Master app had already recommended the next short.

It was a Centur-Ion deck guide.

"If it's Centur-Ion, it's not a bad choice for the next short."

"Given how hot the deck's been lately."

"And with Synchro Acceleration, I'm sure Yusei Fudo and the others will be very interested."

Muttering to himself, Sei Yuki quickly locked in the Centur-Ion video.

At the same time, a title appeared across the Duel Worlds:

"Centur-Ion Deck Introduction! What Is the True Light of Synchro Acceleration?"

Centur-Ion's performance had already shown up in the previous 2-vs-2 short.

So when the next short turned out to be about Centur-Ion, Duelists from every world immediately shifted their attention from small talk to the video itself.

Very soon, the video creator—"MD Centur-Ion Player"—began the explanation.

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Welcome back, duel heads, to learn some tech from my video!"

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Today I'm bringing you the recently on-fire 'Light of Synchro'—the Centur-Ion deck!"

MD Centur-Ion Player: "I'm sure you've already run into this theme often in the current Master Duel environment!"

"Besides Horus and Yubel, I'd say this deck shows up the most."

"So here's the question—why do I call this theme the 'light' of Synchro Acceleration?"

"First, you have to understand this theme's traits."

"Point 1: Many starters—the core has 12 starters, guaranteeing a solid floor."

"Point 2: High resource utilization—Main Deck monsters become resources in the Graveyard, and they can Special Summon themselves from the back row at Quick Effect speed."

"Point 3: Synchro Acceleration is just cool. Aside from Stardust Dragon and T.G., this is the first accel-Synchro deck I really like."

"Of course, the weaknesses are obvious—vulnerable to interruptions; it dies to hand traps."

"And the Field Spell is absolutely crucial—without it, it's hard to do anything fancy."

"Knowing these points, let's look at the monster lineup."

"Card 1: Level 4 Tuner, Centur-Ion Primera. On Normal Summon it searches a 'Centur-Ion' card."

"When set as a Continuous Trap in the back row, it grants effect destruction protection to your on-field Level 5 or higher 'Centur-Ion' monsters."

"During either Main Phase, it Special Summons itself from the back row."

"This is the theme's key extender and a true one-card line. You run 3."

"Card 2: Level 4, Centur-Ion Trudea. On your Main Phase while it's on the field, you can place itself and another 'Centur-Ion' monster as face-up Continuous Traps in your Spell/Trap Zones."

"During either Main Phase, if it's a Continuous Trap, it Special Summons itself and can increase its Level by 4—ending at Level 8."

"This is a core extender as well—also a 3-of—and while on the field it helps us search other 'Centur-Ion' monsters."

"Card 3: Level 8, Centur-Ion Emeth VI. Only during the opponent's turn, from hand or Graveyard, after you've placed a 'Centur-Ion' monster back to the back row, it Special Summons itself."

"During either Main Phase if it's a Continuous Trap, it can Special Summon itself."

"As a Level 8 body, combine it with Primera (Level 4 Tuner) to quickly make a Level 12 Synchro."

"Since it's searchable, run 1."

"Card 4: Level 8, Centur-Ion Gargoyle II. When sent to the Graveyard, it Special Summons a 'Centur-Ion' card from the field."

"If used as Synchro Material and sent to the Graveyard, you can add it back, and when it jumps out at Quick Effect speed it can reduce its Level by 4—ending at Level 4."

"It's similar in function to Emeth VI, but Emeth sees more use—run 1."

"That's the monster package you'll see in Centur-Ion."

"So, it's not hard to see that the key Tuner is still Primera."

"The rest are support resources."

As the single-card breakdown of Centur-Ion played out, Duelists across all worlds furrowed their brows, their expressions turning grave.

Truly a higher plane.

With every deck that shows up from that higher world, if you don't fully understand it, you just think its Synchro Acceleration looks cool— that it's one-sidedly strong.

But once you understand it completely, you find even more absurd points about Centur-Ion.

For example, Primera can grant effect destruction protection, escorting your Synchro bosses safely.

And having two different cards that can adjust Levels means the theme can not only make Level 12 Synchros, but also Level 8 Synchros.

All of that introduces unknown lines and forgiveness into a Duel.

MD Centur-Ion Player: "As for Spells/Traps, we run these."

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Field Spell 'Stand Up Centur-Ion!'. With a 'Centur-Ion' monster on the field it protects itself from effect destruction."

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Discard 1 card to place a 'Centur-Ion' monster from the Deck face-up in the back row."

"When any monster is successfully Special Summoned, you can accel-Synchro with your Centur-Ion."

"Quick-Play Spell 'Emblema Oath': proactively place a 'Centur-Ion' monster from Deck into the back row, or set a 'Centur-Ion' Spell/Trap from Deck."

"Quick-Play Spell 'Centur-Ion Bonds': from hand or Graveyard, place a 'Centur-Ion' monster into the back row; from Graveyard it can banish itself to place another."

"Quick-Play Spell 'Wake Up Centur-Ion!': Summon Level 4 and Level 8 tokens; from Graveyard it mills a 'Centur-Ion' card."

"Trap 'Centur-Ion Phalanx': banish a face-up Monster Card until the next Standby to return; from Graveyard banish to revive a 'Centur-Ion' Synchro with 1500 ATK decreased."

"Counter Trap 'Centur-Ion True Awakening': when a monster effect or Spell/Trap is activated, send 1 of your face-up back-row 'Monster Cards' to the Graveyard to negate and destroy."

"Together, these form the Centur-Ion engine."

"So beyond this core, in a 40-card build, you can slot many other engines."

"That's why Centur-Ion has so many variations."

"In the Extra Deck, 'Centur-Ion Legatia' and 'Centur-Ion Auxila' are your big in-archetype bosses."

"Going first you make 'Centur-Ion Auxila' to search the theme and also protect your back-row cards from effect destruction."

"The other effect puts a 'Centur-Ion' from Graveyard or banished back to your back row."

"Going second you make 'Centur-Ion Legatia', draw 1, then destroy the highest-ATK monster without targeting."

"Monsters with 2000 or less ATK you control get battle destruction protection; in the End Phase it places a 'Centur-Ion' to the back row."

"As for other Extra Deck choices— 'Crimson Dragon' as the relay; 'Red Supernova Dragon' for pressure; 'Cosmic Blazar Dragon' as the omni-negate."

"'Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon'; 'Super Starslayer TY-PHON – Sky Crisis' for lockdown and breaking boards; 'Draco Berserker of the Tenyi'; 'The Chaos Angel', and so on, all fit."

"Off-theme options like 'Deck Lockdown', 'Bonfire', 'Skill Drain', etc., are all viable."

After that quick run-through of Centur-Ion's Spells/Traps and Extra Deck, the Duelists once again fell silent.

They had already seen how deceptive the Field Spell was in the short and knew it was the key to Accel Synchro.

But what they didn't expect was that the other Spells were just as outlandish.

Every Spell is Quick-Play, which means you can use them on the opponent's turn.

And aside from extending… they extend even more.

As for the Traps, a single Counter Trap basically means you have at least one negate.

And the Extra Deck choices— as expected, Crimson Dragon and Cosmic Blazar Dragon are 100% going in.

Putting it all together, they finally understood how strong Centur-Ion's first-turn boards are.

Yugi Muto: "Got it. I finally understand this theme. Accel Synchro, plus leveraging other bosses from the Extra Deck. It has game both going first and second!"

Jaden Yuki: "Mainly the core is small, so you can slot in lots of off-theme engines or cards. With true one-card starters, you're never afraid of bricking."

Yusei Fudo: "It's rough—really rough. You all know how hard it is for my deck to make Cosmic Blazar Dragon, but this deck just makes Crimson Dragon and tags in one turn. I'm stunned!"

Crow Hogan: "Times have changed. This deck is built around Level 12 Synchros, so loads of Level 12 bosses fit."

The group chat erupted into wave after wave of debate among the Duelists.

To them, judging from the whole list, what they were seeing was not necessarily an ultra-meta deck, but still a T1-strength Synchro deck.

The key point— this deck makes Level 12 bosses as easily as drinking water.

Can you believe that?

Meanwhile, for Yusei, Crow Hogan, and Jack in the 5D's world to make a single Level 12 monster, you need Double Tuning or Triangle Accel, and so on.

Compared side by side— utterly outclassed.

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Next, basic combo demonstrations."

MD Centur-Ion Player: "Single card—Centur-Ion Trudea."

MD Centur-Ion Player: "We Normal Summon Centur-Ion Trudea; use its effect to place itself and Centur-Ion Primera from the Deck into the back row."

"Special Summon Centur-Ion Primera; use its effect to search the Field Spell 'Stand Up Centur-Ion!'."

"Activate 'Stand Up Centur-Ion!', discard 1 to place 'Centur-Ion Gargoyle II' in the back row."

"Gargoyle II Special Summons to the field— no Level change."

"Then, use the Field Spell effect to begin Accel Synchro."

"Gargoyle II plus Primera equals Level 12."

"Make 'Centur-Ion Auxila'."

"Chain 2: in the Graveyard, Gargoyle II adds itself back to hand."

"Chain 1: on the field, Auxila searches the Trap 'Centur-Ion Phalanx'."

"Set it, then in the End Phase Auxila's effect places Primera back to the back row."

"On the opponent's Main Phase, use Quick Effect to jump Primera and search 'Centur-Ion Emeth VI'."

"Then Quick Effect jump Trudea and increase it to Level 8."

"Activate the searched 'Centur-Ion Emeth VI' to place Trudea back to the back row, then Special Summon Emeth VI."

"Use the Field Spell to Accel Synchro."

"Synchro Summon 'Crimson Dragon' with Emeth VI and Primera."

"'Crimson Dragon' uses its effect to target your Level 12 Auxila, return itself to the Extra Deck, and become 'Cosmic Blazar Dragon'."

"That's the end-board."

"If it's a single 'Centur-Ion Primera'."

"Normal Summon and search 'Stand Up Centur-Ion!'."

"Activate the Field Spell, discard 1 to place 'Centur-Ion Trudea' in the back row."

"Trudea Special Summons itself and becomes Level 8."

"Then use Trudea to place itself and 'Centur-Ion Gargoyle II' as face-up Continuous Traps."

"Now your field is set with the same pieces again."

"No need for me to repeat it."

"Follow the formula to Synchro 'Centur-Ion Auxila'."

"Subsequent steps are the same."

"If it's the Field Spell 'Stand Up Centur-Ion!'."

"Activate and discard to place 'Centur-Ion Trudea' in the back row."

"Trudea Special Summons and uses its effect to place itself and 'Centur-Ion Primera' to the back row."

"Primera Special Summons and searches the Quick-Play 'Wake Up Centur-Ion!'."

"Activate it to summon the Level 8 token and go into 'Centur-Ion Auxila'."

"After that, it's the same."

"That's the basic Centur-Ion combos."

"Have you learned them?"

Three lines— each a true one-card start.

And throughout the process, there's nothing hard to understand.

For Duelists across every world— or even brand-new players— after watching, they couldn't help but sit up straight.

Simple.

It's really too simple.

Is this the Centur-Ion that, with one card, achieves Accel Synchro surpassing the loftiest state of serene focus?

Even in the DM and GX worlds of the old guard, where Synchro isn't the native style, after seeing Centur-Ion's combos, they felt a sudden clarity— an epiphany.

Totally different from Junk-Stardust lines or Red Dragon Archfiend lines.

The earlier decks were explosive, narrative-heavy combo tales.

This one reaches Level 12 Synchro with just a few easy steps.

This is the most suitable deck system for entering the gateway of Synchro.

Joey Wheeler finished watching with a grin, an expression that said, "I can do this too."

Dr. Vellian Crowler smiled as well, wearing the look of "So Synchro is nothing special."

For them, only through Centur-Ion did they completely and thoroughly grasp the foundational meaning of Synchro— at last.
