Chapter 53 - "The Night Raid and the Hunters’ First Clash"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Just as people inevitably wither and die…So too must nations fall into ruin. Some fight to welcome the birth of a new one—Others stand to defend the old.Different beliefs, ideals, and goals—each bound by fate—at last collide in an unavoidable battle!

As the narration rolled across the glowing screen, countless viewers from worlds beyond worlds grew tense.

A storm was coming.

The great war between Imperial Arms users was about to begin.

"The Hunters, led by Esdeath herself, are fully mobilized!"

"So it's finally happening—Night Raid versus the Hunters!"

"But… can Night Raid really take them all on?"

"Without Esdeath, their forces would be evenly matched, but…"

"With Esdeath in play, the scales are completely tipped!"

"Honestly, Esdeath alone could wipe them out!"

"Don't tell me Night Raid's going to be wiped out for real?!"

While the multiverse held its breath for Night Raid, the group at the heart of it all seemed… oddly relaxed.

Despite the looming showdown, they weren't panicking. In fact, they were—throwing a beach party.

"Wooaahhh!"

When the feed showed Night Raid's girls in swimsuits, countless gentlemen across the multiverse froze mid-breath, eyes glued to the screen.

Of course, not everyone was impressed.

After all, just a moment ago, the atmosphere was tense and dramatic—and now suddenly it looked like a summer fanservice episode.

...

In the Naruto world, the Konoha Twelve watched the broadcast. Shikamaru Nara, the future Eighth Hokage, nodded knowingly.

"So that's what's going on."

"Ino: 'What's what? You look all smart again—spill it!'"

"Esdeath's the muscle of the Hunters, right? And Najenda's the strategist behind Night Raid. This fight already started long before anyone drew a blade. From the very beginning, Night Raid's been the one setting the pace."

Shikamaru spoke calmly, like he'd solved a puzzle.

...

In the One Piece world, Vice Admiral Tsuru smiled faintly as she sipped her tea.

"Najenda and Esdeath go way back. No one knows Esdeath's strength better than Najenda. She'd never be stupid enough to meet the Hunters head-on."

Robin, the Straw Hats' archaeologist, nodded thoughtfully.

"So the battle won't happen until Esdeath and the others split up. Only then will Night Raid strike."

...

In the Hunter x Hunter world, Gon sighed with relief.

"So Night Raid won't get wiped out after all… that's good."

Leorio grinned. "Man, Kurapika, your brain's something else!"

Kurapika waved him off. "Please. Anyone who thinks for a second could figure this much out."

Just as the tacticians across the worlds predicted—

Night Raid had never intended to clash with the Hunters head-on.

First, Akame and Mine—whose faces were already exposed—appeared across different regions to draw the Hunters' attention. Then, they spread false intel, creating the illusion that Night Raid had split up.

The goal: force the Hunters to divide their forces in two directions.

A simple plan—but an effective one.

Najenda knew Esdeath better than anyone.Even knowing it might be a trap, Esdeath would never ignore the chance to confront her former comrade.

And as expected, Esdeath took the bait.

She split her forces—Esdeath herself leading Run and Seryu to pursue Najenda, while Kurome, Bols, and Wave chased after Akame and Mine.

Exactly as Night Raid had planned.

But when the trio—Kurome, Bols, and Wave—finally caught up…

It wasn't just Akame and Mine waiting for them.

It was all of Night Raid.

Mine's long-range sniper shot was narrowly dodged by Kurome's lightning reflexes, but Susanoo's powerful strike sent Wave flying out of the battlefield, instantly cutting down their numbers.

The advantage shifted hard.

Night Raid versus just Kurome and Bols.

The odds looked great.

"This is it! They've got this!" cried voices from a thousand worlds.

And then—

Black lightning burst across the screen. Kurome raised her blade.

...

Imperial Arm: March of the Dead—Yatsufusa, Full Power!

The ground split open as eight corpses—puppets made from fallen warriors, even including the skeleton of a super-dangerous beast—rose to fight.

"Holy crap!!!"

"What the hell is that?!"

"The Hunters just got a full army out of nowhere!"

"Wait—that's Kurome's Imperial Arm, Yatsufusa! It lets her control up to eight corpses she's killed!"

"No wonder Esdeath dared to split her forces—she's got this monster on her side!"

"I didn't expect Akame's little sister to be this terrifying…"

"Hold up—she's Akame's sister?! I thought they just looked alike!"

"You think the universe has that many coincidences? This is a sisters' duel!"

"At first I thought Night Raid had this in the bag, but now…"

"With those corpse puppets—especially that super-dangerous beast—this could go either way!"

"Still, no matter how strong they are, puppets are puppets. They can't beat real Imperial Arms users… right?"

Under the watchful eyes of countless worlds—

The long-awaited Imperial Arms battle between Night Raid and the Hunters had finally begun.

...

In the Overlord world, a skeletal figure watched the feed with great interest.

"Heh… a cursed weapon that can command the dead? Intriguing." murmured Ainz Ooal Gown.

He probably didn't mean anything by it, but—

"My lord Ainz!" Albedo immediately declared, eyes sparkling with devotion. "I shall personally retrieve this weapon for you!"

"Excuse me," came a silky voice. "That honor belongs to me, Shalltear Bloodfallen."

"What did you just say?!"

The two terrifyingly beautiful women glared at each other, tension crackling in the air—ready to turn their jealousy into war.
