Hanada Yui was not a high school student, nor was she a college student still looking toward the bright future with vague expectations.
She was already a working adult—an office employee with far more professional experience than the average person, yet almost no experience when it came to love.
Of course, having zero dating experience did not mean that her emotional intelligence was also zero.
On the contrary, Hanada Yui understood people very well.
That was precisely why, when she was together with Akira Fujimiya, she knew her position clearly and never acted rashly.
She did not fantasize excessively, nor did she pretend to be ignorant. She understood what kind of relationship this was, and she also understood what she wanted from it.
The first stop of their date was the amusement park.
The last time Hanada Yui had visited an amusement park was during her college years, when she had come with a group of friends.
Back then, she had been busy with part-time jobs and coursework, and even that visit had been squeezed out of her tight schedule.
This time, however, was different.
Akira deliberately avoided intense or thrilling attractions and instead invited her to participate in relaxing activities—gentle rides, casual games, and quiet corners where they could sit and talk.
Little by little, Hanada Yui felt herself relax.
After resting for a while, Akira went to buy ice cream.
"Thank you," Hanada Yui said as she accepted it.
Akira sat down beside her.
"How do you feel?" he asked casually.
"It feels like… I've gone back to my high school time," Hanada Yui replied softly.
She looked at the people coming and going around them.
Because it was Saturday, the amusement park was crowded, and couples could be seen everywhere.
When Hanada Yui's gaze lingered on the young couples laughing, holding hands, and taking photos together, she felt a faint sense of envy rise in her heart.
Akira noticed her expression and smiled slightly.
"Later, when we go shopping for clothes, I'll help you pick out a sailor uniform," he said teasing, holding her small hand naturally.
"Fu-Fujimiya-sama" Hanada Yui's face flushed instinctively.
"Change the way you address me," Akira reminded her calmly.
"....Akira-sama.." Hanada Yui corrected herself, lifting her head to look at him.
When they left the amusement park, Akira stopped at a stall and bought a stuffed doll for Hanada Yui.
The doll itself was not expensive.
But Akira knew that when Hanada Yui returned home and saw it, she would definitely remember today's date.
They then headed to the shopping mall.
Akira personally selected a sailor-style outfit for Hanada Yui.
She blushed fiercely and went into the fitting room.
When she walked out and stood in front of the mirror, Akira came up behind her and gently wrapped his arms around her.
"You look like a senior in school," he said.
"R-Really…?" Hanada Yui stared at her reflection.
"Yes," Akira replied calmly. "You're still young and beautiful."
"In a few years, I'll be thirty," Hanada Yui said quietly.
"By then, I'll have graduated from university," Akira replied without hesitation. "The age gap won't seem that big."
"…Can I still be your secretary then?" Hanada Yui asked softly.
"Did you hear what I just said?" Akira leaned closer.
"What?" she asked.
Akira whispered something into her ear.
Hanada Yui's face instantly turned red, and she stopped talking about being his secretary altogether.
Akira picked out several more outfits.
Hanada Yui tried on each one carefully.
When she finally changed back into her own clothes, she realized that Akira had purchased every single outfit she had tried on.
"Akira-sama....that's such a waste," Hanada Yui couldn't help saying as they walked out of the store.
"It's not a waste," Akira replied with a smile. "When I have time, I'll come see you. Wear them then and show me."
"I....I understand," Hanada Yui said softly, anticipation flickering in her eyes.
"Let's go to the café over there first, then watch a movie," Akira said, holding her hand.
.....
Inside the theater,
Hanada Yui glanced at Akira from time to time as they sat in the darkened theater.
Couples didn't really come to the theater to watch movies—they came for the atmosphere.
Just like the couples seated around them.
Some were already hugging, and the faint sound of kissing could even be heard.
Hanada Yui felt that Akira might have brought her here deliberately for this kind of atmosphere.
"Just watch the movie properly, Miss Hanada," Akira said when he sensed her gaze.
"I....I'm sorry," Hanada Yui quickly withdrew her eyes and focused on the screen.
By the time the movie ended, it was already dark outside.
When Hanada Yui drove back to the hotel, she discovered that Akira had prepared a candlelight dinner.
Her mood instantly lifted.
She followed him into the restaurant.
They were seated by the window.
Hanada Yui looked around and realized there were no other guests.
"I asked the hotel to reserve this time slot," Akira said calmly. "No one will disturb us."
He snapped his fingers.
A staff member pushed a dining cart over.
After arranging the dishes, she opened a bottle of red wine and poured half a glass for each of them.
Akira and Hanada Yui raised their glasses and lightly clinked them together.
Hanada Yui took a small sip and set her glass down.
Akira also only tasted a little before beginning to eat.
The two of them ate quietly.
After dinner, the waiter brought dessert.
Akira finished his quickly and stood up.
Hanada Yui was about to stand as well, when she saw Akira take out a necklace.
"When we were at the café earlier, I said I needed the restroom," Akira said. "Actually, I went to a jewelry store. I thought this necklace suited you, so I bought it. You won't refuse it, will you?"
"Akira-sama....thank you," Hanada Yui said sincerely, warmth spreading through her chest.
She liked surprises like this very much.
Akira personally helped her put on the necklace.
Hanada Yui looked down at it, then raised her head.
Her eyes were filled with tenderness.
"When we go back," she said softly, "I want to take another hot spring bath."
Akira poured himself half a glass of wine and smiled at her.
Hanada Yui understood his meaning immediately and finished her dessert quickly.
...
The Next Morning,
Early the next morning, Akira and Hanada Yui had breakfast at the hotel and then returned to Chiba.
Akira did not ask Hanada Yui to drive him back to Sakurasou.
Instead, he took the train and walked for more than ten minutes before returning.
At Sakurasou,
Saki Kawasaki and Kawasaki Keika were already prepared.
Especially Keika, who had been eagerly waiting for Akira's return since the previous day.
When Saki Kawasaki saw Akira, she whispered something to him.
Akira was briefly stunned, then nodded.
The person Saki was referring to was Tsurumi Rumi.
Saki wanted Tsurumi Saori and Tsurumi Rumi to go to the amusement park together with them.
Akira naturally had no objections.
Saki relayed the message to Keika.
When Keika heard that Rumi would also be coming, she happily ran upstairs to find her.
Not long after, Tsurumi Saori came downstairs with Rumi and Keika.
Upon seeing Akira, she bowed politely.
"This wasn't my idea," Akira explained. "Saki suggested it."
"Saki-san" Saori Tsurumi felt warmth well up in her chest.
"I want to thank Rumi-chan for always taking care of Keika," Saki said softly.
"Thank you as well," Saori replied. "...I'm actually not a very good mother. I haven't considered Rumi's feelings enough, she's still just a child."
She glanced at Rumi as she spoke.
Tsurumi Rumi lowered her head, staring at the tips of her shoes.
She was a sensible child who rarely asked for anything.
When she learned the day before that Keika was going to the amusement park, she hadn't told her mother.
She didn't want to cause trouble.
"Rumi-nee" Keika said cheerfully, holding her hand.
"…Thank you," Rumi replied in a small voice.
...
At the Amusement Park,
The car stopped in the parking lot.
After everyone got out, Keika walked ahead, holding Rumi's hand.
Rumi, in turn, held Keika's hand like an older sister.
Saki watched them with a gentle smile.
Saori looked at Saki, then at Akira, and stepped closer.
"Fujimiya-san, I'll take care of Rumi and Keika," she said. "You and Saki can go enjoy yourselves."
"Thank you," Akira replied without hesitation.
He then walked toward Saki.
When Saki saw him approaching, her face turned slightly red.
Akira reached out and took Saki Kawasaki's hand.
