Sienna Thornton was already covered with several layers of sterile surgical drapes, with a frame set above her chest. All she could see was the strong light above and the green fabric; nothing else was visible.
But she knew Dr. Scott Langford had arrived.
The director cautiously inspected the pre-surgery preparations, while the young man walked to the side where Sienna could see him, holding his hands clad in white surgical gloves up high.
She looked up at him.
Scott Langford was dressed in green surgical scrubs, a headscarf with fruit patterns on his head, his face mostly hidden by a large mask, revealing only a pair of deep eyes.
Yet even so, Sienna could tell his eyes were smiling.
He nodded to her and whispered, "Don't be afraid, the surgery will only take half an hour. We'll chat, and it'll be over before you know it."
Though Sienna was nervous, she didn't forget to greet him, "Dr. Langford, thank you for your help today."
