"Nothing, I just came over to take a look and happened to see what you were cooking." Gu Yuan shook her head, her gaze dropping to the pot in front of him. The brown sugar water was already about to boil, and it actually looked pretty decent.
She leaned in a bit closer, craning her neck to look. "Brown sugar water?"
He didn't say anything.
Gu Yuan: "Is it for me?"
This time he did answer, but his tone and his words still sounded annoyingly prickly. "Your face was so pale. Mum is getting old and her eyesight isn't great, she might not notice. Since I saw it, lending a hand is no big deal. It'll be ready in a bit."
His tone might sound prickly, but his whole heart was wrapped around her.
