Chapter 65: Family?
Shyra's figure reappeared behind the smaller worm, her form flickering as [Stealth] faded. Her claws glowed white, and the air shimmered and warped around them as [Critical Strike] activated.
She slashed down.
Crack!
Her claws tore clean through one of the worm's middle segments.
A gurgling screech followed, but before she could strike again, the larger worm's tail lashed out.
Wham!
The tail slammed into her, the force sending Shyra flying back into a tree, splintering the wood on impact. She landed on her feet, but her breathing turned heavy.
Leo's heart hammered against his ribs. "Shyra!"
She shook her head, letting out a low growl. She was still standing and fine, but that one hit had shaken her. The rank gap was painfully clear.
The two worms shifted, circling now. One stayed above ground; the other was half-burrowed. Their movements were coordinated—one was distracting while the other flanked them.
