Chapter 66: System Update!
Leo panted, his hands trembling from the strain of overusing mana. He ended up burning more than the amount he had managed to regenerate with the mana crystal.
Mana: 231 / 6021 -> 356 / 6021 -> 497 / 6021
Even so, the rapid regeneration kept him from collapsing completely. The mana crystal was still being absorbed.
He glanced toward the smaller worm. It remained pinned in place, half-impaled by Niri's vine, its thrashing growing weaker with each passing second as the vitality drain slowly leached the life out of it.
Steam rose from the battlefield. The ground was torn apart, soaked in blood and churned dirt. Shyra stood beside him, chest heaving, her black fur matted crimson, giving it a nightmarish appearance.
"Still alive," Leo muttered, glaring at the mutilated body before him. "Stubborn bastards."
