Leo's expression immediately darkened.
Realizing how that sounded, the instructor immediately corrected himself.
"I have already verified your treasure…"
As he spoke, Shub slowly closed his eyes, as though sensing something invisible in the air. A few moments later, he opened them again and nodded to himself.
"But you can't use it," he continued smoothly. "What I mean is, the mana emitted by this treasure is poisonous. I can feel it. Staying exposed to its poisonous mana for a long duration will make you go mad, rupture your blood vessels, and might even turn you into a mindless berserk beast."
His tone was calm and reassuring, accompanied by broad, reassuring hand gestures. Every word he spoke sounded completely sincere.
"And as a matter of fact, the treasure itself won't hold real value unless you first purify its mana. For that you will need high-grade purifiers, and that alone would cost you at least a million AC."
