Athena swallowed hard, refusing to turn back and look at the chaos following behind her. But she could feel it.
She could feel everything, the weight of their eyes, the stares of the school, the fire, the jealousy, the protectiveness. And strangely…It didn't scare her.
For the first time ever…She felt powerful.
Suddenly, the PA system crackled to life, and the hallways were filled with a smooth, robotic voice.
"Scholars of Gravecrest Academy," it said, each word crisp and clear, vibrating faintly along the corridor. "You are requested to proceed immediately to the Visionary Chamber. Attendance is mandatory."
A collective gasp rippled through the students nearby.
"Visionary Chamber?" someone whispered, eyes wide. "They only go there once in a while right?"
Athena paused mid-step, brow furrowed. She wasn't entirely sure what the Visionary Chamber was, she had only heard the name mentioned in passing. She glanced over her shoulder at the four men behind her.
