The air trembled under the weight of cursed energy and dark magic.
Night had settled deep over the ruined amusement park, painting the world in faint hues of blue and red from the broken rides and flickering streetlights.
Standing opposite each other were two figures — the strongest sorcerer of the modern world, Gojo Satoru, and one of the Eight Demon Princes of the underworld, Astaroth, the Corrupt King.
Between them, the faint hum of a magic array echoed from the sky — like a twisted halo, ready to open a gate to something far worse than any human could imagine.
Astaroth's polite smile finally faded.
His voice, which had been smooth and charming before, dropped several tones — low, guttural, and filled with venom.
"You two… are you sure you want to go against me?"
Gone was the elegance; in its place, a cold aura of dominance filled the air. Emerald-green magic began to spiral around his body, eating away at the debris beneath his feet.
"This ritual is the key," he said coldly, "the final piece that allows my legion to cross from the Void into your world."
(T/N:....why?)
Gojo, standing casually with his hands in his pockets, tilted his head slightly. The white blindfold covered his eyes, but the sharpness of his smile could be feel.
"From the moment you needed tens of thousands of blood sacrifices just to make that array glow," Gojo said, his voice calm but sharp, "you were already an enemy of humanity. No debate needed."
With one hand, he reached behind his head, tugging loose the band that held his blindfold.
The fabric slipped off like a curtain being pulled before a stage.
Beneath it, his six glowing blue eyes opened, brighter than the cursed energy itself — and for a moment, even Astaroth's composure cracked.
"...It seems," Gojo said, his tone darkening, "that we're done talking."
Sigh~
Astaroth sighed theatrically, though the madness in his grin betrayed him.
He raised his right hand, and from the dark soil beneath their feet, countless black shadows erupted. Each shadow twisted, stretched, and solidified into the monstrous forms of demons — five meters tall, oozing tar-like skin, with eyes that burned in hatred.
"Hunt down the humans," Astaroth commanded, voice echoing like thunder.
ROARRR!
The demons roared and leaped away, their steps shaking the cracked earth. Within seconds, they had vanished into the chaos of the surrounding district.
.....
Beside Gojo, Seigen Amawaka, the White Tiger of the Twelve Heavenly Generals, clenched his fists and scanned the battlefield.
His face was calm, but his tone was grave.
"I'll take care of those demons," Seigen said firmly. "Each one of them is at least mid-rank… the Onmyoji on-site won't last without backup."
He turned his sharp gaze toward Gojo, his expression complicated.
"Don't die, you annoying brat. You're the strongest here. If you fall here, everything — both the human and spiritual realms — collapses."
He adjusted the talismans on his arm, his eyes glowing faintly blue as the White Tiger Barrier formed around his body.
Gojo turned his head slightly, a teasing smirk curling his lips.
"Heh… that doesn't sound like you, Uncle Wastewood. You sure you're not getting emotional? Are you trying to confess before the big fight?"
Seigen's face darkened.
"Tch. I'm already regretting saying anything," he muttered before leaping away into the ruins, a trail of blue light following behind.
...
Astaroth watched him leave but made no move to stop him. His emerald eyes narrowed.
"Ignoring me, are you? How rude…"
He turned back toward Gojo, his smirk returning.
"So, it's just you and me, then — Gojo Satoru, the strongest. I've heard stories about you even in the depths of Hell."
Gojo rolled his shoulders lazily.
"And yet you still showed up. Guess you demons always have a wish to return as soon as you come."
Then, his tone dropped, and a sharp grin split across his face.
"Lets play, Chicken King."
Astaroth twitched.
"It's Corrupt King."
"Eh, close enough," Gojo replied with mock innocence.
With a flick of his fingers, the air shattered like glass. A massive curtain barrier dropped from the sky — an invisible dome covering the entire area.
"Now we can go all out," Gojo murmured. "No bystanders. No interruptions."
Even from afar, Seigen glanced back briefly, recognizing the barrier.
"That's Gojo's Curtain… now the city won't see a thing. Good."
...
BOOM!
The ground exploded beneath Gojo's feet as he blurred from sight — appearing right in front of Astaroth in an instant. His right hand clamped around the demon's face while his left pulsed with electric-red and black energy.
Black Flash.
The strike landed with a detonation of pure cursed energy.
The impact tore through Astaroth's abdomen, ripping out a massive hole — a void where flesh should've been.
Astaroth staggered back, laughter bubbling from his throat even as green flames licked his wounds.
"HAHAHA… FASCINATING! What a deliciously painful technique!"
The ground beneath him melted into dark sludge, hissing and bubbling.
Gojo's eyes narrowed, his instincts screaming.
Without hesitation, he pressed Astaroth's face downward and kicked him upward in the same motion — a seamless counter to avoid the corrosive swamp spreading from the demon's feet.
Teleport
A flash of white light.
Gojo vanished — then reappeared directly behind Astaroth mid-air.
But before he could strike again, a surge of demonic energy erupted from Astaroth's body, swallowing him in a wave of demonic power.
"Disappear, Gojo Satoru!"
The magic morphed into a massive serpent of acid, its fangs dripping with death. It coiled in mid-air, snapping its jaw shut around Gojo.
The world trembled as the creature crashed through the nearby buildings, dissolving steel and stone like paper.
Astaroth landed gracefully amidst the destruction, pressing his hand to the earth.
A ripple spread out — everything in front of him corroded instantly, the world itself wilting under his magic.
"Dead already?" he muttered, scanning the dissipating mist. "What a disappointment—"
He stopped mid-sentence.
A faint hum echoed above him.
Then, from the air, Gojo appeared — upside down, one hand glowing crimson.
"You talk too much."
Cursed Technique Reversal: Red
The blast detonated.
Astaroth was swallowed by a red explosion that tore a hundred-meter crater into the ground.
Buildings collapsed.
The Ferris wheel at the park's edge crumbled under the shockwave.
Whooooshh
When the dust settled, Astaroth was still standing — barely. Half his body had been burnt away, but his green magic pulsed like a living thing, repairing him from within.
His laughter was ragged but wild.
"Hahaha… magnificent! You truly live up to your reputation… Gojo Satoru, the strongest of sorcerer!"
Gojo exhaled, brushing dust from his coat.
"You're still talking? Man, you demons really don't know when to quit."
Before Astaroth could respond, Gojo vanished again.
The demon barely had time to react before a side kick slammed into his skull, launching him like a cannonball through three collapsed buildings.
The shockwave tore apart the remnants of the amusement park.
Gojo didn't pause.
His right and left hand formed the familiar spiral of red and blue cursed energy.
Cursed Technique Reversal: Red
Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue
The two orbs spiraled around his arms, merging into one, and with a flick, he sent them screaming toward the ruins.
Hollow Technique: Purple!
BOOOOOOOMMM!
The blast swallowed Astaroth whole.
For a moment, nothing but roaring flame and screaming wind filled the world.
When the explosion died down, only smoke remained. Gojo stood at the center of the devastation, his face illuminated by the lingering glow of cursed energy.
"You were a good sandbag," he said with a cruel grin. "It's been a while since I found someone who could take a few hits."
When—
A sudden pulse of energy made him pause.
