CLANG!
The sharp clang of steel against demonic flesh echoed faintly across the amusement park.
Seigen Amawaka's "beast claw" had struck again, dismembering a demon in a single swift motion. The limbs and skull flew apart like a ragdoll creating a terrifying scene, yet Seigen remained calm, his gaze unflinching.
"It seems… this is the last one," he murmured to himself.
After scanning the park, he noticed no residual demonic aura lingering in the vicinity.
A faint relief washed over him.
The exorcists and Onmyoji teams who had been helping had started organizing civilians — some to evacuate, others to stay behind and neutralize remaining threats.
The scene of devastation stretched like a scar across the park.
Fires smoldered, skeletons twisted grotesquely, and demonic energy seeped into the cracked pavement.
The chaos had frightened many civilians, yet, miraculously, casualties remained limited.
Counting them, however, would be left to the different Branchs after the dust settled.
One persistent problem remained: THE DESTRUCTION WAS TOO VISIBLE.
Nearby residents and passersby had witnessed the battle firsthand.
Cameras and smartphones had captured the carnage, and posts flooded social media instantly.
The workload to clean up, control rumors, and manage panic had just doubled.
Seigen sat quietly on the corner of a flowerbed, still in his full battle stance, the White Tiger Charm glowing faintly on his arm.
Thick dark circles under his eyes betrayed his near-forty age, though his youthful appearance made him look barely twenty.
The charm, fused with his innate magical power, maintained his youthful visage automatically.
His gaze roamed across the park, scanning the destruction, explosions punctuating the aftermath every few moments.
Scarlet shockwaves shimmered faintly in the distance, reminding him of battles past. Even now, the familiar weight of power pressed against him — heavier than it had been a year ago.
.....
Tread… Tread…
Footsteps echoed from the distance.
Two figures approached, moving cautiously amid debris and flickering lights.
It was Aki Hayakawa and Himeno, both in their standard suits, scanning the ruins with careful eyes.
Seigen tilted his head slightly, noticing them but making no immediate move.
Their presence was unusual — clearly not part of his team, but likely affiliated with a different authority.
The duo's eyes fell upon the sharp beast claw gleaming on Seigen's right hand.
Recognition flashed across their faces.
"Hello, Mister with the sharp claws," Himeno called out, smiling warmly and beckoning as though greeting a familiar friend.
Aki rubbed his forehead, exasperated.
"Do you just greet anyone like that?" he muttered under his breath.
Seigen's expression remained cold, indifferent as ever.
"Call me Seigen," he said flatly.
Despite his youthful appearance, he radiated the aura of one who had fought countless battles, decades of experience reflected in every muscle and flicker of his eyes.
Himeno's smile faltered, realizing the weight behind his gaze. Aki's eyes narrowed in sudden understanding.
"Wait… Seigen?" Aki whispered, disbelief in his tone.
The White Tiger — one of the Twelve Heavenly Generals of the Onmyoji? And this clawed right hand…
"You are White Tiger, one of the Twelve Heavenly Generals? Lord Seigen?" Aki's voice was filled with awe.
Himeno froze, stunned.
They had casually encountered one of the pinnacles of the exorcist world without realizing it. The handsome stranger on the ground, so casual and calm, was no ordinary eexorcist.
Seigen ignored their recognition, turning his gaze instead toward the battlefield where Gojo Satoru continued to clear the remaining demons.
Seeing that Seigen was not paying attention to them, Aki gestured to Himeno to sit quietly to the side.
"We're not stepping onto the battlefield," he muttered. The distance from the explosions was enough to understand the danger, and the chaos on the ground was far from over.
Seigen noticed their hesitation. Rarely did he open his mouth, but the situation warranted explanation.
"You cannot enter the battlefield over there," he said in his calm, even tone. "The mastermind behind this incident… is a powerful entity from the Void Realm."
Both Aki and Himeno's eyes widened in shock.
"Could it… be one of the Eight Princes?" Aki asked instinctively.
Seigen's gaze flicked toward them, then he nodded slowly.
"Yes. One of the Eight Marquis Kings. But his intentions are… peculiar."
Himeno's worry deepened.
"If one of the Void Princes enters reality, it could wreak havoc. Demons are invincible there… and any human with darkness in their heart can be possessed. Reality is fragile against them."
Seigen nodded subtly.
"This particular King acts with purpose. He is not here merely to spread chaos."
....
A crisp click of high heels echoed across the park.
Both Aki and Himeno froze.
From the shadows emerged a figure of elegance and authority. Her long red hair was twisted into intricate braids, two strands framing her golden, circular eyes. Dressed in a pristine white blouse and fitted black skirt, she radiated a calm yet commanding presence.
"Makima?" Aki exclaimed, shocked.
Himeno mirrored his expression.
Seigen, however, frowned deeply.
"Why are you here.."
The White Tiger Charm on his arm began to glow hotter, warning him to prepare for battle.
Makima's calm gaze swept over Seigen before she turned to the pair in suits.
"Thousands of people in the amusement park nearly lost their lives. Why wouldn't I intervene?" she asked softly, almost casually.
Aki nodded in understanding but quickly pressed for clarity.
"You mentioned the Eight King has his own purpose… what do you mean by that?"
Makima's delicate expression shifted subtly. She sighed and gazed into the distance, the faint glow of the destroyed park reflected in her golden eyes.
"That Eight Corrupt King intends to bring his demons from the Void Realm into our reality. But the process is costly. Tens of thousands of blood sacrifices are required. Once the ritual completes, thousands of demons will pour into our reality."
The weight of her words sank like a boulder in the minds of the listeners.
"What…!" Aki and Himeno both gasped in unison.
They could scarcely imagine the scope — a literal army of demons spilling into the human world. Entire cities would fall in hours, if not minutes. Humanity itself teetered on the edge of annihilation.
Seigen's gaze remained fixed on the battlefield, muscles tense.
The chaos he had just cleared was nothing compared to what awaited if the Void Prince succeeded. His claw flexed instinctively, magic energy simmering along its edges.
Even as the surviving demons screamed and scattered across the ruins, the shadow of the Void Prince loomed far larger than the battle at hand.
Makima's voice broke the tense silence.
"We have little time. Contain the survivors, evacuate civilians, and prepare the wards. The next wave will not forgive hesitation."
Seigen nodded subtly, the White Tiger Charm flaring brilliantly. Even in repose, his aura projected authority and power.
Aki and Himeno exchanged a glance, understanding that they were witnessing the calm before the storm — and that their allies were not just extraordinary humans, but near-legendary entities in their own right.
The amusement park lay in ruins, scarlet and blue lights flickering in the wreckage.
Fires smoldered.
The cries of demons and lingering energy echoed like ghosts. And somewhere, high above, the sky shimmered faintly with the still-unactivated magic array of the Void Prince.
Humanity had survived for now. But all eyes — mortal and mystical alike — were drawn toward the coming storm.
"This… is only the beginning," Seigen repeated, voice low, resolute.
And with that, the three of them — Seigen Amawaka, Aki Hayakawa, Himeno, and the enigmatic Makima — began preparations for the inevitable confrontation with a force beyond imagination.
