Sobu High School –
After returning to the school building, Gojo pulled out his phone, turn it on.
As his eyes scanned the screen, only to find a flood of messages from Nakano Nino, all of them asking if he wanted to go out for dinner or teasing him about random things, and getting angry at him for not replying.
"She is really persistent, haha~ cute," he muttered to himself, smirking.
He quickly typed back,
"Sorry Sorry my phone was on silent. My bad~ didn't see your messages. Next time, I'll call you to dinner, okay?"
Almost immediately, a reply came through.
Apparently, Nino had been holding her phone in her hand the whole time.
"Hmph, that's what you said? You better invite me to dinner!"
"Yes yes, please, eat with me."
Gojo shook his head, chuckling softly.
He decided to linger a while longer at the pavilion before returning to his office.
Afternoon classes were basically non existent for him, meaning he could afford some more "fishing" time.
But when he reached the pavilion, he noticed another student already sitting there, quietly eating a small bread roll.
The girl had long black hair tied in a neat ponytail, large gentle eyes, and a soft, reserved demeanor. She exuded a calm, almost shy presence.
This was Mio Akiyama.
"Yo, bread-eating student," Gojo called, lifting a hand in greeting with his usual mischievous grin.
Mio took careful, small bites of her bread.
Once she swallowed, she lifted her gaze and said softly,
"Hello, Sensei."
Of course, she recognized him—he was the teacher who had joined their class for a card game during the morning session.
Gojo slid onto the bench opposite her, his eyes immediately falling on a bento box sitting neatly beside her.
Through the transparent lid, he could see that the food remained untouched.
"You're eating bread…but why aren't you eating the bento?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
Mio shook her head, lowering it slightly before answering in her calm, emotionless tone.
"This bento… was made by my friend, Yui Hirasawa. But she insisted I could skip it; she was going out to dinner with Akane Mikawa-sensei, and I should eat the bread instead."
Hearing this, Mio seemed hesitant to even touch the bento—
She followed her usual habit: buying bread to eat on her own, saving the bento for later at home.
"Hehe~"
Before she could respond further, a strange, teasing laugh echoed in her ears.
Gojo's face was suddenly before her.
It was uncomfortably close—
"Eh!"
Mio gasped in shock, losing her balance slightly, her eyes squeezing shut as she braced for the inevitable.
But before anything happened, a pair of large, white hands gently caught her, pulling her back upright.
"Whew… whew…" she muttered, startled, her face coloring slightly.
"Sensei, can you not be so scary?" she asked in a quiet huff, finally letting a hint of expression show.
Gojo leaned back with a soft laugh.
"I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to ask… can I eat this bento? I haven't eaten lunch yet."
Although he had indulged in plenty of desserts and puddings at the restaurant earlier, seeing the neatly packed rice stirred a sudden craving for a proper meal.
Mio blinked, momentarily silent.
Then, with a delicate push using her slender hand, she offered the bento to him.
"You can eat it, Sensei," she whispered softly.
"Arigato."
Gojo lifted the lid, pressed his hands together briefly in a playful gesture of thanks, and picked up the chopsticks.
The bento had cooled down, but he didn't mind.
As he began eating, Mio watched him silently, her lips pursed in concern.
"Sensei… it may have cooled down. You don't have to eat it if it's not good," she said gently.
"No No, it's just fine~," Gojo replied, a playful grin tugging at his lips.
Ten minutes later, he had finished the entire bento under Mio's watchful gaze.
"If I may say… you really did a good job preparing this," Gojo said, placing the empty box down.
He casually produced a toothpick, cleaning his teeth with the air of a relaxed old man.
"From now on, eat bento instead of bread," he added lightly, teasing.
"I…" Mio opened her mouth to protest, wanting to insist the bento had been prepared by her friend Yui.
Even though Yui often shared meals with others, Mio had intended to give this one to her.
Before she could finish, Gojo placed his left hand gently on her head.
"Next time you make a bento for someone, think about whether the other person would actually enjoy it. And remember their feelings in the end—don't let a bento go to waste like this one did. Understood?"
"Sensei…" Mio's eyes widened, disbelief and surprise mixing in her gaze.
He knew this bento was intended for someone else all along? she thought. But… why?
"Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to help you finish bentos that others don't want every day. Now, goodbye, confused student," Gojo said, waving his hand playfully as he got up and left.
Mio stayed seated for a long moment, staring at the empty bento box.
"Sensei…" she whispered softly.

Later, approaching the office door,
Gojo tiptoed carefully, leaving only a small gap open. His right eye peeked through, observing the interior.
Hiratsuka-sensei isn't here… safe.
He slowly pushed the door open and swaggered inside.
"Looks like Hiratsuka-sensei and Chihiro went out for a drink," Gojo muttered quietly to himself.
At that moment, neither Chihiro nor Hiratsuka Shizuka was in the office, as he had expected.
They were likely off somewhere drinking again—an afternoon habit of there's.
Meanwhile, the all the teachers had mostly disappear, leaving Gojo with a relatively empty, peaceful room.
He could finally relax—or, in his words, "fish" again.
