Quietly she looked at his face and heard him chuckling. He turned and pulled a stool, sitting down with a casual manner though that doesn't seem to diminish his elegant vibe, the air of a nobleman.
"Don't worry, just because I'm a prisoner, I won't be hurting you for fun," he said before turning, "I was kept here against my wish partly more because some people dislike me, not for my action."
So he says... but she knew that she shouldn't believe what stranger says so easily. Having seen how her family easily betrays her, trusting people was a more difficult task than it sounded. It doesn't mean that she had lost all hope in mercy, kindness, and love, however, she still believe kindness is an important virtue but that doesn't mean she was going to willingly walk into a trap.
Evangeline could somehow feel he wasn't someone who would attack people indiscriminately, considering how he hadn't attacked her once despite the fact that she had just suddenly appeared in front of him.
