Evangeline woke up from a brief nap, finding herself still sitting down on the carriage. They had been in the carriage from morning until now where it was dusk. When she lifted her face, her eyes immediately froze as she found Hades who was also staring back at her.
He was speechless, his eyes wide open, his gaze bright at him. Yet, there was almost no expression on his face as if it wasn't for the fact he was breathing, she might have thought he was a figure made out of wax.
The straight forward yet coldly blank stare made her entire body to shiver and as if noticing that, Hades showed a smile.
"You slept well."
The warm words he sang contrast to his cold expression and when he smiled, he looked heavenly. She almost felt terrible for even freezing up whenever she saw Hades smileless.
"I did." She smiled back at him, "You still won't sleep?"
"I don't feel like it, I found something else better entertaining than sleep."
