HARPER
I stared at the intruders with wide, unblinking eyes. A girl about the age of six…or maybe seven, stood next to a teenage boy whose eyes held disgust. The boy's hand was over the girl's eyes to block her view.
"Oh my god," I whispered, jumping to my feet as the surprise washed off. Were they the guests that Mrs Smith said were coming over?!
She could have easily said his children! How could she even classify his children as guests? This was my first time meeting them, and I had left a bad impression. Shit.
Ignoring the fact that I wasn't in panties and, hopefully, Dominic had hidden the pants from view, I stepped towards the boy, extending my hand to him. "I never knew you were coming over. I should have been more prepared, and I'm Harper."
The boy stared at my hand with pure unadulterated disdain, and he sneered. "No one asked you."
