My phone buzzed, and I stared at it, seeing Richard's name on the screen.
"Excuse me," I said, walking to the other end of the room.
"What did you find, Richard?" I murmured, glancing over my shoulder.
Harper and Mila were engrossed in the pretend tea party happening. Even though she'd been reluctant at first, she seemed to be enjoying it now. Again, I noticed that her worries seemed to have vanished, and she was her natural self.
"Nothing much," Richard said over the phone. "Did you ask your wife? Perhaps she can help us, because right now, the only evidence points to her. No one else."
"Harper won't say anything to me," I grunted. That was the most frustrating part.
"Welp," he mumbled. "We are at a dead end, boss. If your nephew decides to file a lawsuit against her, it'd be a hassle for you because you're still on the police radar for the same reason. They might think you're an accomplice and once again find a reason to convict you."
