I lay on the couch in Clara's living room, watching as she fixed her makeup. She was already taking too long to do so.
Although I never minded when she did things like this, today, she was just being a little extra. Putting so much care into how mascara looked and how it shouldn't. The powder she had used, her lipstick, even her dress! She was Clara and barely needed all those extra details. She could be in a rag and still make it look good.
I wanted to believe she was trying to annoy me on purpose. "Why does it look like you're going on a date rather than the movies?"
Since Dominic allowed me my freedom again, I might make it count. I decided to go to the cinema, even though I lied to him about it yesterday. We should be there at 8:30 pm, but with Clara doing this, we could arrive there at 10:00 PM when all the good seats have been taken. And the rolling credit was on.
"Girl," she raised one brow to look at me. "We are going on a date. What do you mean it looks like?"
