The meeting with the investors hadn't been held yet since it was scheduled for the next day. Still, we'd managed to move them to the hotel where they would be staying.
They'd also requested a city tour, and the boss, Dominic Fletcher, had arranged a tour guide for them. So now, we were back at the office, going about our usual activities. Well, I was.
My boss sat in his chair doing absolutely nothing, one hand cupping his cheek, his gaze distant.
I frowned as a small smile crept onto his face for the umpteenth time. His eyes twinkled like there was something pleasant he couldn't get out of his head. But I knew better. Nothing had been pleasant these past few days, especially with the issues between him and his brother. I doubted the arrival of the investors had suddenly lifted his spirits.
As if he sensed my stare, his eyes shifted from the wall he'd been fixated on to where I sat.
"What is it?" he grunted, raising one brow.
