I stiffened in Julian's arms. My eyes squeezed shut as I buried my face against his chest.
Why the hell had I ever gotten involved with Dominic Fletcher? Now he was about to ruin my life all over again.
"You left me just to end up with this…" Dominic paused.
I lifted my head and met his gaze. The disdain in his eyes was unmistakable as he looked Julian up and down like he was trash, something that belonged in a dumpster and not worthy of standing in his presence.
Julian was dressed casually. Black jeans, a blue shirt tucked in neatly, and a blue blazer. I was grateful I had chosen a Chanel two piece white suit, polished and professional. If Dominic wanted to look down on anyone, it wouldn't be me.
I had known Julian for years. The only time he dressed up was for work or important meetings. Otherwise, this was him.
And I loved that about him.
