Scene 1 — The Duel Begins
The training grounds outside Konoha were quiet. The sun hung low, painting the forest in gold and shadow.
Kaelen adjusted the strap of his sword. Its black edge shimmered faintly in the evening light. Three years of training… all of it, right now, matters.
Across the clearing stood Kurota Gen — Jonin, infamous for his bounty, and dangerously arrogant. He smirked, his sword glinting under the sun.
"You're the kid who came back after three years?" Gen's voice dripped with condescension. "Funny… thought you'd be weaker. Or dead."
Kaelen exhaled slowly, tightening his grip. I don't need words. I need precision.
"Let's begin," Kaelen said calmly, letting his black blade hum.
Scene 2 — Testing the Swords
Gen charged first — fast, aggressive, a mix of brute force and expert swordplay. Kaelen's first instinct: dodge.
Not yet… read his rhythm.
The swords clashed. Sparks flew. Trees shivered under the force. Kaelen countered, using subtle movements he'd honed over years of training. Swift Mount Slash…
A strike grazed Gen's side. He laughed. "Not bad… for a Genin."
Kaelen ignored the comment, focusing entirely on the flow of chakra and intent. Observation Haki flared subtly, letting him anticipate Gen's next move.
He's strong, but predictable if I pay attention.
Scene 3 — Escalation
The duel escalated. Gen used multiple sword techniques in rapid succession — a whirlwind of steel.
Kaelen responded with shadow clones, positioning them strategically. One clone engaged Gen directly, another distracted from the side.
Substitution Jutsu… now.
A clone fell; Kaelen appeared behind Gen. Black Blade Mirage Storm! The air cracked as dozens of phantom strikes danced across the clearing. Gen barely deflected, his grin widening.
"Good… clever kid. But let's see how you handle this."
Gen infused his sword with chakra, a green aura glowing. He unleashed a devastating spin — the ground shook under its force.
Kaelen barely rolled to safety, dirt and leaves flying around him. Sweat beaded on his brow. Too reckless… I need to control my chakra better. Sage Mode… now!
He activated Sage Mode for ten seconds. The world sharpened. Leaves shimmered. Every subtle shift in wind, every whisper of movement became visible.
Focus. Timing. Strike.
He dashed forward, sword humming. Mountain Slash, Swift Mount Slash, Mirage Storm! Every strike precise, controlled, cutting through Gen's defenses.
Scene 4 — Respect Earned
After minutes of intense dueling, both combatants paused. Dust hung in the air. Breaths came ragged.
Gen's smirk faded slightly. Impressive.
"You've changed," he said, sheathing his sword. "Not just stronger… smarter."
Kaelen wiped sweat from his brow. And still not done… but this is enough for now.
Gen nodded once. "Keep training. You're going to be… dangerous." He walked away, leaving Kaelen standing, chest heaving, sword glowing faintly.
I survived. I improved. And I know what I need next.
Scene 5 — Tsunade Summons Kaelen
Back in Konoha, the news of Kaelen's duel reached the Hokage's office.
"Send him here immediately," Tsunade said, leaning back in her chair, eyes sharp. "If Itachi or Kisame noticed him… I need to know why."
Within hours, Kaelen stood before her.
"You've grown," she said calmly, inspecting his sword. "Sage Mode, Haki… very controlled. Impressive for someone your age and rank."
Kaelen bowed slightly. I've trained to survive… now it's time to learn to protect.
Tsunade nodded. "You'll be assigned missions beyond a Genin's scope. Akatsuki are already aware of you. Be careful."
Noted, Kaelen thought. I will not be a pawn.
Scene 6 — Akatsuki Observing Elsewhere
Far away, near Sunagakure, a cloaked figure stood silently atop a sand dune. Beside him, a shark-like man observed the horizon.
"It's him," the cloaked figure whispered. Red Sharingan eyes glinted. "The swordsman. He's stronger than before."
The other, Kisame, grinned. "Let's see if he interferes with our plans for Gaara."
Their attention shifted. Somewhere far to the north, the hunt for Jinchūriki begins.
The world is moving… and Kaelen is now in its path.
