Bang!
Himiko shifted back, just as the air in front of her exploded, sending a shockwave that nearly took her off her feet.
She recoiled, dashing a respectable distance away before frowning at the woman's ever all feet away from her.
Gypsy smirked. "Come on, you should be ready to fight harder for love. Or I might just keep him for myself."
Himiko clicked her tongue.
'Her quirk is troublesome.'
Although Himiko was clearly faster than her, the woman somehow always managed to predict her attacks and evade her just in time.
And then her telekinetic outbursts were also able to target specific points to cause explosions in the air.
'She's a psychic.' Himiko mused.
"Sakura." She spoke in a lower tone.
Less than a second later, Sakura's voice came from the other side.
"Yes, Himiko?"
"Has Kyle made it inside yet?"
"Yes, he is inside, he should be at the target location soon."
Himiko nodded her head. 'Alright, I guess it's time I did my part.'
She cracked her fingers and frowned. "You're really annoying, you know right?"
The woman chuckled. "I could very well say the same for you."
Himiko smirked just before she lunged.
The air whistled past her ears as she closed the distance between them in a heartbeat, and squared up with the psychic.
Then she braced herself and swung, her fists cutting through the air with deadly force.
Himiko delivered multiple fast blows, but Gypsy read her like a book, her eyes giving off a golden glow as she dodged every single one.
Boom!
The air in front of Himiko exploded, but she had expected it and easily evaded it.
Then out of nowhere, she kicked dust in the air, creating a cloud of dust that masked her presence.
Gypsy braced herself, eyes wide as she caused multiple explosions to ripple through the dust, completely wiping it out.
But when the dust had cleared, Himiko was nowhere in sight.
Then suddenly—
"?!"
Bang!
Gypsy's body caved as a heavy blow crashed into her lower back, sending her flying into the dirt.
She coughed out blood, pain flooding her body. But she knew better than to waste time, quickly turning around to stop the following onslaught.
Whoosh!
While lying flat on the floor, she narrowly avoided another punch, the ground cracking as Himiko's fist met it, then she dodged another blow, until she had no more room to dodge.
Himiko chuckled. "I guess you can only predict the future of what you can see, hehe."
Crack!
Gypsy let out a pained gasp as Himiko's elbow found its way to her gut, gasping for the air that had fled her lungs.
'I should end this fast.' Himiko thought.
She was about to deliver the final blow, when the space before her suddenly erupted in an explosion far greater than anything Gypsy had ever pulled off.
The air trembled under the weight of her blast, particles of dust levitating as though carried by phantoms. And then it burst, sending everything flying in all directions.
KAKBOOOM!
"Damn it!"
Himiko raised her arms in front of her face, steel pouring out of her wrists to defend herself, all while flying back as quickly as possible.
Yet, she could not escape the full brunt of the attack.
She was knocked out of the air like a rag doll, her body rolling on the rough floor and a sharp pain seeping into her arm.
In front of her, Gypsy stood up, her feet shaky as she stabilised herself.
This time, the permanent smile she had on her face was gone, replaced by a nasty glare.
The ground visibly shook, pieces of shattered rock levitating in the sky as Gypsy fixed her gaze on her.
Her hair was floating, clothes fluttering in a wind that did not exist. Then she took a deep breath, then smiled.
"Finally taking things seriously?" Himiko mocked as she got up.
"Don't get cocky, kid."
Vwooosh!
Himiko charged forward, her eyes set on the psychic.
Bang!
The space right in front of her erupted, exactly the moment she had stepped on it. But Himiko had expected it to happen, she was not able to completely avoid it, but the damage was greatly reduced.
She flipped in the air just as two more explosions nearly tore her apart, they raced toward her from her side.
Gypsy was not going to make the same mistake.
Anywhere Himiko went, her eyes followed, taking note of every movement, her quirk seeing seconds into the future.
No matter what move Himiko would make, she had advanced knowledge and placed counterattacks for every single one of them.
That was why she could not wrap her head around what Himiko's plan was.
'Why is she still fighting, she should have realised she can't touch me.' She mused as she watched the girl.
But Himiko kept racing toward her, her body bruised all over from several hits, and her breathing erratic from having to dodge so many blows at the last second.
Himiko heaved a breath as she leaped into the air, multiple explosions shaking the earth below her.
Then she gritted her teeth while levitating.
'My strength is useless if I can't touch her.'
No matter how hard she tried, there was no way to reach her without getting hit by one of her blows.
Himiko's eyes suddenly lit up.
'That is it!'
She took a long breath, her eyes locked on the woman in the distance.
"Here goes nothing—!"
Whoosh!
Like a rocket, Himiko charged headfirst at Gypsy, throwing all caution to the wind.
'If I cannot get to her without being hit, then all I have to do is take her blow head on, right?!'
It was so simple that it was laughable.
Gypsy's eyes widened.
"Do you really want to die that badly?!"
BOOOM!
The wind cut right toward her like a riptide, the air concentrated to the point that Himiko could see the patterns vividly.
But she did not dodge.
Instead, she slashed her own face, causing blood to drip out of her skin.
And then that blood hardened, forming an iron helmet that wrapped itself around her head.
Metal strings poured out of her hands as well, and using them she shielded her body as she dove into the madness.
The shockwave from the impact was deafening.
Himiko's legs quaked as ripples passed through them, her head rang as the metal reverberated from the impact and her body felt like it was thrown into a turbine.
But her bet paid off.
Like an arrow, Himiko cut through the explosion, the wind lashing around her like a storm.
Gypsy stared at her with wide eyes, a look of terror appearing on her face.
"This… this is madness!"
Bang!
Dust shot up into the sky, the earth quaked and a violent surge of wind blew past them from the impact.
Gypsy had raised her hands last minute, trying to defend herself with her telekinetic abilities, but the result was the same.
She slammed into the ground with an explosive force, every single ounce of strength fleeing her body.
Beside her, Himiko was lying as well, shrouded with multiple cuts and bruises that were now closing.
The metal helmet faded away, revealing a lock of golden hair and a face partially revealed by the ragged clothing.
It was not enough to guess who she was, but it was good enough to see her cocky smirk as she lay next to Gypsy, unmoving.
Gypsy coughed out blood and sighed like an angry child. "You're one crazy chick, you know that?"
Himiko turned to stare at her. "Woah, you're still alive??"
"What do you mean I'm still alive?? Were you trying to kill me?!"
Himiko shrugged.
She was silent for some time, the sounds of explosions from the other fight reaching their ears.
Then out of nowhere, Himiko asked. "So, why are you doing this sort of work? Is there really nothing else?"
It was a genuine question, not one made out of loathing, and it was not asked in a condescending way like most heroes would do.
Gypsy sighed as she watched the stars.
"I never had to do stuff like this… not when my father was alive at least, but now it's only my mom…."
She paused for a few seconds. "Now look at me doing all the grunt work."
Himiko turned to watch her, then smirked. "Parents suck, don't they?"
The woman chuckled. "I guess they do."
