Natasha looked down at her father's body, drowning in his own blood. Her mind had suddenly started to feel dizzy watching him bleeding like that.
Wiping away her dried tears, she stepped forward towards her father's desk carefully avoiding the blood flowing on the floor.
The door to the room suddenly cracked opened as a couple of men in police uniforms barged into it with their guns readied.
One of them shouted, "Hands up or else I will-- Wait what the hell is happening over here?!"
Natasha felt the others scrutinizing her as they spread out in the room. Sighing she replied, "He is dead. Enzo Riccardo...is dead. And before you shove your laws at my face, this isn't a murder."
As she spoke, she opened the drawer at the desk and took out a rolled paper. Unfolding it, she slammed it on the desk in apparent frustration. Then she pointed out at a specific section as she shouted back, "Do you see this? The bounty notice clearly states that the bounty on handing over Enzo Riccardo would be $10 million. However if he can be killed, the bounty would then be $50 million."
The officers behind her looked confused. Why was she shouting out at them with such anger in her tone? They didn't even say anything.
As if waiting for them to be completely silent, she took out a ruffled piece of paper from her side pocket. Again, she unfolded it and slammed it on the desk with an even greater force.
A curious officer walked over to the table to peer into it. Was this another additional notice the government had issued and they weren't aware of it?
But as he reached near it, he recognised the face on the paper. Shocked he turned to look at the girl beside him.
Her face was the same as the one on the poster...
Meanwhile Natasha watched the officer's face change drastically with a calm indifference.
This was to be expected. Her father, David Orlando, had once been just a regular employee. A lazy one at that, who just wanted to go on "adventures" as he liked to call it and play tons of games.
That is...until the day his doctor told him about his cancer. She had watched as his entire personality started changing after that. The first few months, he was heavily depressed and rarely joyful.
However as she watched him everyday, she noticed he started becoming... something dangerous. He quit his job rather abruptly and rarely left his room after that.
On the day she was graduating from high school, she stumbled upon her father's secret. He was now a man who was actually a billionaire under the guise of the name 'Enzo Riccardo.'
Pleasant as it was, she later learnt something horrifying. The company's debt. It was even more than the company's net worth. At first she had assumed it was all a part of business. Afterall, even countries can have massive debts and yet function flawlessly.
But she never confronted him for keeping his billionaire persona as a secret from her. In fact, she had believed it was all a part of her father's plan to not let her slack off her own work.
And indeed, she worked even harder after that so that one day, she can show him that she was really worthy of being his daughter.
But as fate would have it, her good delusional mood came breaking down when she learnt what her father meant to do. His diary clearly stated a roadmap of how he would dissolve his company. But behind it all, it was just a transfer of ownership from him to her.
As a result, all debts shall come under his name. Not his company.... thereafter, he would flee causing a massive bounty to appear on his head.
It all came true...
Even though she didn't know why exactly the governments wanted him dead, she knew he was also responsible for many regime changes and exposing several corruption rackets across the globe.
And he wanted her to kill him to claim that bounty, that could help her grow the company and give employment to millions of people.
'But you see...father was indeed a lucky man to have a daughter like me.' Natasha's face darkened, an almost sly smirk appearing on her face.
'I wasn't a single step behind him. I followed him...literally.' She thought as her gaze fell on the second paper.
Name: Natasha Orlando
Bounty: $220 million
She enjoyed the officer's retreating form who looked at her as if he had just seen a ghost.
'Hiding this from father was the most irritating job possible. On one hand, I would have loved to boast of the higher bounty on me and get the endless waves of head pats...sigh, the world is really cruel that denied me this fantasy. Instead I just had to hide it and make sure he never got a hint of my own identity. It was also the major reason why I wore masks while I was with him in public.'
The officer suddenly shouted, "She is Natasha Orlando! This is the bitch we had been looking for all this time."
Finally, Natasha turned around as she faced all the officers. Seeing her in real, almost all of them stiffened as they raised their guns in a tandem.
While David's bounty notice stated that he could either be offered in chains or he could be shot dead and then delivered to them. But for Natasha, they all wanted her...
"...Dead. Isn't that what's the government order? So...whichever of you shoots me gets the bounty of a whopping $220 million."
They looked at each other, as if calculating if they can get the bounty before their colleague.
"Unfortunately...I still win at the end." She looked down on them with an air of superiority. The officers now looked completely confused. All of her words seemed as the final ravings of a dying animal. In a way, they were correct.
'If he couldn't live, I am not allowed to live either. Though it would certainly have been a headache to explain father that I am not his adopted daughter...'
Sighing, she ended in her mind.
'I am the real daughter of David Orlando. Both in flesh and mind....I just hope grandma takes care of explaining it to father.'
Then she said, "Goodbye, mortals. It was indeed a pleasant and thrilling journey to kill so many corrupted of your kind."
Suddenly she raised her right hand in a gesture.
*Whoosh*
Another whistling bullet flew through the open window and hit her straight on her forehead as it burst open her cranium and her brain matter spilled out in a mushy mess of flesh and nerves.
As her body fell, her eyes drifted towards the distant figure on the rooftop of another house.
'Number 2-- ahh no wait, the official leader from now...I hope you collect mine and my father's bounty. The future lies in your capable hands.'
