I arrived at Noir & Blanc. The restaurant honestly looked like it belonged in a movie. The chairs were soft and shiny, and the lights were warm, making everything glow in gold. The tables were set so neatly that it almost felt wrong to touch anything.
The waiters moved around quietly in black suits, like they were part of the background. You could hear soft music playing, and everyone spoke in calm, low voices, like rich people who didn't need to shout to be heard.
Some couples were smiling at each other, and others were too busy on their phones. Everything felt fancy, but cozy too, like a place where even your drink sparkled a little.
"He's over there," Becky said, pointing toward the far end of the restaurant.
That was when I saw him, Mr. Jason Lee, the multi-award-winning producer everyone in the industry wanted to work with. The man who could flip my entire career in one meeting.
